The Favre/Moss combination has a long history of trying to happen. Count it as one of the main reasons for the degradation of the realtionship between Favre and Ted Thompson.. Both players have wanted to play with each other for years.

No, Culpepper is doing just fine being a mediocre UFL QB with the Sacramento Mountain Lions.

If Moss goes to Vikings, maybe he can stop Frave from s***ing on my fantasy team.

What would be awesome about that trade would be that it would setup another showdown in new york with Moss vs. Revis this coming Monday night.

I don't know how this makes sense if you're the Pats, unless you get a solid LB or DB coming back the other way.

I was on board when Sam "Bam" Cunningham was the RB.

He could have told the Pats you better trade me because, I will not resign here. So they will get value for him now if they can. Maybe BB knows they don't have a great shot at a superbowl. There defence is still a work in progress. The pats know what they are doing they are a class A franchise in finding players in the rough.

Moss needs to go. He showed no joy on the sidelines in Miami when the rest of the team was pumped. Not a good teammate.Totally opposite from the kind of player BB usually likes.

Gee, how desperate is is Brad Childress trying to keep his job?
He's going to overpay for Randy Moss. And I think he's going to give more for Randy Moss than he was willing to give for Vincent Jackson.
That says a whole lot in my opinion. The man is fighting for his job....I know it, he knows it, every Vikings fan knows it, hell every NFL fan can see it now.
Would I be opposed to this? Absolutely not! I love Randy Moss and still don't know why we gave him away in the first place. Yes, they GAVE HIM AWAY!
Will he help our team? Most definitely! It's really hard to see how he wouldn't help us.
There is next to little leftover here from his first stint with the Vikings, so I can't see the locker room rejecting him and there is NO chance the fans turn him away. This would energize the fanbase more than Favre ever could have!
But bottom line, if this means Childress get's a contract extension, in some way, I am TOTALLY against it.

That's kind of funny considering it's almost a complete 180 to what they said when they acquired him and every year up until this one.

Yeah, but it's Randy Moss...people can resolve to change themselves, but most eventually go back to being who they were in the first place. Moss hasn't been running every route going back to last season, and has slowly been losing interest in the Patriot way. Now that they're not giving him a big new rich contract before this one's up, he's losing interest a lot faster. IMO Moss needs a big kick in the arse every so often and he's looking like he needs one now.

Maybe, but Julius Jones is now gone, so it will be Lynch and Forsett as a 1-2 punch, and I prefer a more explosive guy like Lynch than Jones. Good trade IMO for just a 4th rounder.
Lynch and Forsett are best of friends off the field too.
Also, a better run game gives one less excuse to the inept Hasslebeck. Carroll's surrounded him with a fair bit of proper (although not star) NFL talent, come up with new offensive twists and opened the doors a bit for the offense to be a bit more creative and explosive.
Same old looking Hasslebeck out there, looking clueless and shell shocked 80% of the time, making bad decisions 80% of the time too, not able to reflect the philosphical change that every other part of the team and organization has taken on.
So overall a decent addition....the Seahawks just have to be 1 game better than the Rams and assume that the Cardinals continue to "are who they thought they are", and this division and playoffs, are well within sight the next 12 games.

Other way around. the Pats have shown zero interest in extending him past this season....and are more than willing to deal him and get something back for him.
BB has a history of doing this with older players and knowing when to cut ties. He is a brilliant football guy but he is is very cut-throat when going about his business. They have been phasing Moss out of the offense slowly but surely all year. They just smoked a division rival on the road and Moss had zero catches while doing so. He has 9 catches on the season. Their rookie TE has twice that many IIRC.
This trade makes way to much sense not to happen.

Some really intriguing speculation about the Packers I just read.
obviously the Packers are looking for a RB and when Marshawn Lynch was dealt yesterday for a 3rd (2011) and a 5th (2012) those that follow the team were aghast that GB didnt offer up a 3rd in 2011 ( using that pt formula they use in the NFL this would of been way better value for the Bills) and just get the guy. But apparently everything changed at some point yesterday with a call to/from the Carolina Panthers.
The story goes that Dwayne Jarrett who was charged with DUI early yesterday morning had worn out his welcome in Charlotte ( his second such offense) and was going to be released later in the day ( this happened last night). As such the Panthers were desperately short at WR, especially with Steve Smith out with a high ankle sprain, and that talks were going on with GB to acquire James Jones ++ for DeAngelo Williams.
Now I dont put a lot of stock in this simply because John Fox doesnt generally get rid of really good RB's as that is his bread and butter when it comes to coaching. In fact i dont leive ownership would allow him to deal Willams under any circumstances.
However, I wouldn't be shocked if Jonathan Stewart was in the mix in talks as he has become redundant within the Panther offense. They are a team going no where fast and indeed are in the beginnings of a rebuild especially on offense. Draft picks will be a major part of their thought process going forward as will getting a decent youngish WR going forward as Smith is getting up there in age. Jones fits that criteria IMO and certainly it would come down to what the ++ is. TT loves his draft picks and is very much a guy that believes in building through the draft. That being said he is sitting on a team that is close to being a SB contender and beyond the ST and penalty problems (coaching issues) the one biggest glaring need is a running game and the guys they have now simply will not and have not been able to get it done.
Something to watch moving forward as the trade deadline is 2 weeks away.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports via Twitter that the deal is complete: The Vikings have acquired Randy Moss from the Patriots in exchange for a third-round pick.

Wow, I guess it comes down to Moss playing motivated or not, and I think he will. I would be shocked if New England doesn't try and flip that third for Jackson.

So it's all done and official.
Moss and a 7th rounder in 2012 for a 3rd rounder in 2011.
