ok, a small minority who thought it mattered enough to actually do something about it rather than just vent on a message board.

Point still stands. It wasn't important enough for enough people for it to result in a large net change on who is sitting on the city council. Therefore it isn't really important, compared to other things that are happening in our city.

Arguing over this bridge now is quite literally water under the bridge. The flawed process of the single sourcing and councils decision with it is a big part of Nenshi's plans to clean up city hall.

Deal with it.

Its my personal opinion as a twice daily user of the Bow river pedestrian bridges that this is exactly the case. It's needed badly (to the point they have traffic warning signs on the other bridges currently) but it was communicated very poorly.

Opposition of the bridge on the other hand was quite vocal and painted it as a play toy for the residents of Sunnyside/Hillhurst, which is not the case. People from many areas of the city North of the river use the bridges downtown.

So you mean I have to wait until spring to get across the river? This sucks.

Yes but your beret will fly off in the spring winds.

And your ratty little hipster beard will freeze over the winter.

At least it's still on budget according to the article. It would cause quite the uproar if in addition to being completed in June it also costs a couple mil more.

I'm pretty sure the contractor (Graham) is on the hook for the delays, so we should see no extra cost to the project.

No contractor would bid lump sum on a job like that. I'd be very surprised if they are on the hook for anything.

If there were anything of note in cookie-cutter DeWinton, I'd take an ill-informed potshot at it, Mustang Sally.

Listen jerk face, it's not his fault Mommy and Daddy moved there and at the age of 20+ he had no choice but to go with them, no choice whatsoever.
