I think some context is needed here. Age of consent in West Virginia is 16, just like Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina and South Dakota. With permission you can add Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Vermont and Washington. There are a lot blue states with similar statutes. 25 states allow marriage at 16. Hawaii allows you to marry 15 year olds and that state is as blue as West Virginia is red. This is a larger problem and not just associated with West Virginia.
I really can't tell if you're joking anymore... the Pew research centre is one of the largest opinion polling entities in the world?

That’s what subsidizing the people who follow through with the choice does. It incentivizes those who are borderline by reduces the cost of the choice to have children but you only have to pay for those who make the choice. You have less waste than a general program. Also it probably costs less to take someone from 1 kid to 2 kids then from 0 kids to 1 kid.
Though expanding immigration is the cheapest option to solve demographic problems. Just allow unlimited immigration for 20-30 year olds with post secondary education.
Unlimited is a lot, that could be more than the population of the US! What kind of post secondary education and from where? We have to fix our reaccreditation standards before we can do any of this. And what is their English level? English always has to be re-tested first.

Up until 2015 it was possible for marriage in some Canadian jurisdictions as low as the age of 7.
You’d probably have a tough time finding that jurisdiction, as this looks like the same misread that’s on wikipedia (almost word for word) of the explanation given around changes of marriage law in 2015. There was “some debate” over whether the common law age was as low as 12 for girls and 14 for boys or 7 for all in some jurisdictions, but provinces have set age-related marriage laws in the mid to high teens since the early 20th century.
That said, 16 is still too low of a minimum if people can’t vote at 16.
A Colorado judge has censured Jenna Ellis, a former senior legal adviser to Donald Trump’s 2020 presidential campaign who admitted in state disciplinary proceedings that she made at least 10 false statements about the 2020 election as part of an effort to mislead the public, according to court documents.
Bryon M. Large, Colorado’s presiding disciplinary judge, wrote in a six-page opinion signed Wednesday that Ellis had “repeatedly made misrepresentations on national television and on Twitter, undermining the American public’s confidence in the 2020 presidential election.”
Ellis signed a legal acknowledgment that “she made a number of public statements about the November 2020 presidential election that were false” and did so with a “reckless state of mind” and with “a selfish motive,” according to documents released by Colorado’s Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel.

The Pew Research Center is one of the largest of its kind on the planet, the "Pew Pew" Research Center probably has something to do with the noises laser guns make in cartoons and movies.
I think Locke has been staring at too many numbers because he read 'Pew' twice and probably thought 'LASERS'.

Hey look, more video evidence showing that Jan 6 was a staged event was just released. I know lots of you have a justifiable grudge against Tucker, but don't hold your breathe hoping for a left-leaning source to be objective after they spent years hammering the public with the notion that this one of the greatest tragedies in American history.

He's also unjustly spent 320 days in solitary confinement for this.

So the tapes right now were sent only to Fox News to create a narrative around. Now republicans are criticizing Tucker for that content.
So unless there are multiple groups with access to the 40k minutes of video there are some very large grains of say to be taken before trusting the Tucker report as representative.
Remember that in the depositions for the Dominion lawsuit Tucker is not reliable news he is entertainment.
When you watch aomething like this do you ask yourself why this is being presented this way?

Tucker Carlson cherry picked from the videos to present a narrative that will appeal to the MAGA base. Ratings for FOX news are not good and they fear losing viewers to NEWSMAX.
Especially since the internal communications at Fox for the Dominion case show ppl at Fox admitting outright that they knew all the stolen election stuff was bunk but they did it to feed their base and keep their ratings.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell took issue, saying Tuesday, “Clearly, the chief of the Capitol Police, in my view, correctly describes what most of us witnessed firsthand on January 6.” McConnell was referencing the comments of Officer Tom Manger, who criticized the “opinion program” for airing “commentary that was filled with offensive and misleading conclusions about the January 6 attack.”
“It was a mistake in my view for Fox to depict this in a way that’s completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official at the Capitol thinks,” McConnell finished, criticizing the network currently under legal fire for knowingly delivering conspiracy and lies more than news.

Matata likes to pretend he has this capacity for critical thinking so in turn the narrative he's being spoonfed by Tucker Carlson of all people is the Lord's Truth even though it's selectively clipped together chunks that don't show a cohesive narrative outside of whatever is conveniently walked through via Carlson and the guy's lawyer.
In a universe where they would actually want to make these kind allegations stick, they would just dump all of the camera data on the internet and let people see for themselves.

You mean the guy who plead guilty and admitted to breaking down a barricade to get into the building, and has since shown zero signs of remorse or rehabilitation? Yeah, he's a total victim.

I forced myself to watch the Tucker Carlson video. I can't even understand what point he is trying to make. Every body who entered the building did so through doors and windows broken open by the first wave of rioters. That doesn't really classify as innocent sightseers as he describes.
What point is he trying to make about the DC Police not doing anything? That they were sympathetic to the protesters because a lot of them are Trump supporters? Throw them in jail too if that's why they weren't doing anything. Will that make Carlson happy?
I watched a good portion of it live. We all know there was a mix of violent rioters, and people who just followed them in. You don't enter a building that was broken into as part of a peaceful protest.

Tucker brings up a good point, but it's not the point he thinks he's making. If that guy was black or brown, no way he's getting the same treatment from the police.
I mean, the latest leaked texts have shown that Tucker himself despises Trump and doesn't believe a thing he tells his audience. Dude is a just vile, disgusting human being, period.
