They're proposing Rantanen defer 60% of his contract to get his contract to under $10MM AAV. It's the same nonsense when Drai was re-signing.

No he's gonna take a $6MM bridge for 2 years apparently. Then the cap will be $102 or $104. That's their logic. Defer Rantanen, bridge Bouchard at $6, wait for cap go to $104. The first two definitely won't happen, and with teams not wanting to spend to $100M next CBA, may limit the changes of the 3rd happening as well.
