Krebs was looking decent when he got to Buffalo then Granato has never really given him a chance.

He’s smaller but he doesn’t play like it. He was the best 2001 in Alberta at one point, better than guys like Dach and Byram

Curious usage of Jonatan Berggren (33rd OA in 2018) by the Red Wings.

They called him up after the trade deadline but has yet to play him.

If he plays one more NHL game, he loses his waiver exempt status.

He is over a point per game in the AHL and had 15g 13a in 67 games in the NHL last season.

Maybe Detroit moves him if there is no longer an opportunity there.

Was the callup a timing thing related to how many are allowed past a certain date?

Does seem weird he's not playing at all.

Sucks for him if they are not letting him play anywhere because of contract status. Loses out on stats (important at contract time), loses out on experience at either level.

If the Flames are trading Anderson the team I think they should target is Ottawa. They have to sign Pinto for a number that will be close to Rasmus’s salary for the next two years. The Sens have a huge imbalance on their backend with three dmen on the left side that might all be in the top 40 dmen in the NHL for left dmen and no good dmen on the right side. They also feel that they are good enough now to be a playoff team.

I expect big changes on the backend for the Sens this summer with Chychrun likely leaving. Rasmus gives them an extra year on the Chychrun deal at the same salary level.

It may be a dream but I would love to see something like

Rasmus + Vancouver 1st
For
Pinto and Ottawa 1st.

Throw in another pick (2nd or 3rd) if needed to get it done. I don’t think that the Sens new ownership wants to wait another 2-3 years to compete for the Cup, suspect they want to fast track that process this offseason.

This would be a really solid trade IMO. Not sure if Ottawa would go for it though. So rare for any team to ever trade a pick in the top 5. It might need to be a swap of Calgary’s first round pick for Ottawa’s first round pick for it to work.

Why does Calgary do that? If Andersson was ever on the table we can do a lot better than that.

Ottawa is better off trading Norris’ cap hit instead of trading Pinto. I doubt he’s available.

To get the 5th pick in the draft. This would be a dream scenario.

It’s incredibly rare to trade into the top five of a draft, I can’t see any offer better than that. Doubtful Ottawa would go for it anyways.

Suspect Norris is almost untradeable with his injury history. 8 million a year for another 6 years and the guy has 30 points this year in 50 games. Has to eventually be a 65-70 point guy to worth that contract.

The hard part would be getting Ottawa to do it, not Calgary. But living here I can say for sure that there is incredible public pressure to be good now. They have 4 seasons left of Tkachuk and nobody in Ottawa thinks if they run back this current group they will have a chance at the playoffs next year. They have 3 more years of Batherson on a killer deal.

There will be big changes in Ottawa this summer and I suspect they will be moving heaven and earth to get a top pair right dman. A decent argument could be made that the Sens have a top 3 in the league left side of their defence and a bottom 3 of the league right side of their defence. Rasmus immediately changes that. Moving Branstrom/Bernhard Docker down to third pair rather than having one of them always playing top 4 minutes changes their backend.

I am not saying it is likely but that is a team I would be looking at if I was Conroy.

People forget they are a team, Conroy and management work together. Too many people are quick to look at the owners as the bad guys, but maybe Conroy agrees with them if the ask was not enough. Nothing to see here, Conroy did his job and they will see if they can get the deal they want over the summer.

A few fan making demands and pushing expectations based on assumptions doesn't seem very realistic.

A top 5 pick is probably the most valuable asset you'd be able to return for Andersson. Easily a quality over quantity type of decision.

Didn’t want to make a new thread but sad to see former NHLer Konstantin Koltsov commit suicide. He is the boyfriend of tennis player Aryna Sabalenka.

Unrelated but there are unconfirmed reports of former Flame Chris Simon passing away. Is that true?

I remember people arguing that he was head and shoulders better as a prospect than Pelletier and Zary...which was never the case IMO.

All three were pretty equal.

Just saw the Chris Simon news. Brutal. Only 52 years old
