I didn't notice the guys in the scene at all as I was watching. Even had to slow it down on replay to notice them as I was more focused on the centre of the screen/bridge. What I did notice was the Ten Tree hoodie Ellie was wearing that episode. Shout out to a canadian company or just random chance?

Most people are saying they didn't notice it at first, it's not as big a deal as the Starbucks coffee cup on the table in Game of Thrones.

Nah, lots of American cities have DMZ like areas that are only a few decades old.

Calgary and Alberta in general shutters and knock down derelict buildings fairly quickly.

It's not a big deal if they leave it either

Yeah, if it never would have been brought up here I never would have known.

You're right, but given that the show in general and this episode especially are largely about cinematography they'll probably want to remove what is a fairly silly mistake for a production of this quality to make. If I were Mazin I'd want it fixed. And it's a SUPER easy fix.

Love the show. But I'm starting to get real tired at the lack of zombies and lack of wonton murdering of rival factions.

I'm going to guess the season's third act will be full of that sort of stuff

I could do with as few infected encounters as possible except when plot worthy.

If there had been wontons on their plates, Joel and Ellie would have definitely been murdering them when they were eating.

My only real gripe with that episode was that it felt rushed. Previous episodes have pretty much covered a game chapter each but the latest flew through 2 of them. Would have liked more time spent in Jackson to made the Joel/Ellie scenes more impactful. Also could have made the university visit a full episode of horror instead of a few minutes to drive the plot forward. Kind of wish they’d stretched the first game story across 2 seasons. Heck the show is so good give me a few seasons of monster of the week before wrapping up the story.

I actually very much agree with that - pacing has been a bit weird at times. Having the episode conclude with Joel and Ellie leaving Jackson together would have made sense. Then you could have had a whole episode more like episode 2 that's more suspenseful and action-oriented.

Without talking about details I continue to be a bit concerned that they're not going to be able to do justice to what's left in 3 episodes... especially Episode 8, hopefully that's a long one.

Episode 7: 56 minutes
Episode 8: 51 minutes
Episode 9: 43 minutes

Continue not talking about details, even vaguely, no one wants to know the you know that something big is happening, goober.

Pretty sure the next two episodes will be prominently feature infected and violence. I actually appreciate this show more for using those aspects sparingly. It makes you appreciate the scenes when they go all out that much more

In the place of excess zombies is character development as well as a deepening of relationships. You can never go wrong with those things if you're trying to build a memorable story

If you're looking for "gratuitous", TWD is there for you any time

I looked up what each of the next three episodes are covering and it seems just fine to me. There is no reason for episode 8 to be any longer than 7 or 9.

Y’all gotta let go of the game and just enjoy the show as a separate thing.

Recognized Canmore instantly.

My friends and I would river surf off that bridge all the time. (In the 80’s) As soon as I saw the bridge, I knew it immediately.

Episode 3 will be the one HBO submits to the Emmys for best supporting actor (or guest actor, not sure how it works), but this one will be the one they use for best lead actor in a drama I bet. Pedro absolutely nailed his role, the talk he had with Tommy was probably the best bit of acting I've ever seen from him. Plus he sold the #### out of those panic attacks he was having, I really hope he gets some recognition for this series

I'm with Corsi when it comes to pacing and such. I think it's been fine for the most part, but the university bit felt a little rushed and tacked on at the end.

I still wiash it was something like 12 episodes instead of 9. Would give them more time to fill in blanks, flesah out characters and so on ... but as a huge fan of the games, I'm probably just greedy lol.
