I disagree with that style. The less decision making that happens on the pitch, the better. If each player knows his role, then they focus on that role completely. Who takes in-swinging corners, who takes out-swinging corners. Who takes direct free kicks, who takes indirect. All these things should be decided, including the PK-taker.

was feeling it, but Davies has a bigger personality and overruled him? All of a sudden, there is tension.
Letting the players decide didn't work, and now that's extra pressure on Davies instead of Herdman who is supposed to be there to absorb pressure for his players. At the very least, he should have lied to the media and said I chose Davies to take it, the decision is on me.
