Does that make Riellys cross check worth 5 games when he had no prior discipline in your opinion? Because this incident with McDavid was also a violent cross check to the head and he has prior suspensions, I feel they should be punished the same.

They weren't the same. Garland was involved and separated from McDavid, who proceeded to crosscheck him in the head. Meyers was away from that play and Bouchard was coming towards him looking like he wanted to get involved and got crosschecked.

Results were the same but intentions were differenct. One was to a player facing away, the other was to one who was face on and not expecting something to happen. If you are going to move towards a guy be prepared. So the organization that has long deployed cheats and hacks to get under opponents skin such as rat boy linesman and tikkanen, now rejects that approach. Similarly, “the code” only applies when it suits oilers purposes.

The grab your opponent’s equipment and fall down to draw a penalty player does exactly that, except this time the opponent also holds onto his equipment.

Chicken wing headshot where player gets put on IR with zero punishment is about all of the latitude that should be shown.

I’m fine with Mavi playing like this as long as he is penalized just like everyone else.

In fact, I’d like to see penalties called as being advocated by oilers lackeys. Let’s see pissy’s slew foots, spearing, and headshots called too.

I think both myers and Mavi get 3 games each. The nhl can’t allow unnecessary headshots like this.

They were awful all game. The last three games they had failed to start on time and had to claw their way back twice. Couldn’t do it a third time. 8 games in 8 different time zones and the coach was an idiot with his 11-7 on the trip as well. Lots of bad play uo and down the lineup that night for sure.

The guys on the Fan960's take on the McTempertantrum and Garland situation sounded a little to closeted Oiler fanish to me. They keep saying that Garland was holding down McTempertantrum but who was on top of who when the whole thing started. And who punched who in the head while they were both on the ice? McTempertantrum was doing his patented I'll fall on him and hope the refs think he pulled me down and we'll get one of our bread and butter powerplays. Just more media coming to McTempertantrum's defence. Sad that it is Calgary media.
