The worst part is that Bieksa brought up the topic of fighting and his view was totally backwards. Basically said that McDavid doing what he did should have led to a fight, not another cross check, but not that McDavid should have fought, oh no, but that the reason the other cross check existed in the first place is the fault of people pushing to get fighting out of hockey and two random players should have fought in response to McDavid’s cross check.
Absolutely stupid.

McDiver and Crysaitl are the only players in NHL history I can think of that have played 700+ or almost 700+ games who don't have a single fight. They would rather throw elbows, spears to the nuts, head shots, and cross checks to the face and let their teammates do the fighting.
Entitled losers.

Ya I wasn't sure if accurate. But I don't remember jagr being a diver cheap shot artist whiner. I'm sure he is more well respected around the league.

and yet a friend of mine (oilers fan) told me once that McDavid is the more admirable/honourable player- versus Matthews because 'at least McDavid fights'

Outside of his 10 game suspension for running into a ref (he was Wideman before it was cool) I don't think he ever was suspended for any on ice violence.

The media advocating for vigilante justice is wild. Rogers is so pathetic in their attempts to anoint McDavid to “legendary” status. If the roles were reversed, the media would have the pitchforks out wanting said player to be suspended for the rest of the season. Absolute garbage the love fest for this clown.

but why was garland holding him? i'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact mcdavid was laying on top of him for what... 5-6 seconds, then as mcdavid gets up he punches garland in the head.... nothing to do with that at all.

It was 5 seconds after the other player scored a goal though
He should get 3 because of history but I would be shocked

He should get 3 games, 2 would also be reasonable but I bet he gets 1 so he can play the Nucks again next week. Also bet the Giraffe gets more.

That would delay the completion date of the new building by a year to redesign for his statue. A perfect recreation of him feeding rights into McDavid’s jaw while smiling and singing the anthem.

I'm actually hoping he only gets one game. Then a canuck throws a massive cheap shot on mcdavid in their next meeting. The league will probably give him 2 games to protect him from playing canucks again right away.

Thats hilarious.
McDavid hasnt had a fight in 11 years....when he was with Erie.
In said fight, he missed with a punch and broke his hand against the glass IIRC.
