I would be sad if we trade him. If we do, I am really hoping for a fantastic return.

This displeases me greatly. I think we have a high probability of “losing” any dougie trade...

This is some bull####. There'd better be a good story behind this.

IF you want your prospects and young players to gain confidence you need to put them in positions to succeed. Last season the only place that seemed possible was up on the top line with backlund having such a poor season.
I think in game tinkering is important, especially if you see that things aren't working.
Anyways the GG era is over and we can move forward, hopefully with a better system and better results

Maybe Dougie asked to be traded? He was obviously not happy with Freddie being shipped out.

Disappointed we’re gonna lose Dougie and be stuck with Brodie. I guess if the return is insane then great but I get the sense we’re going to be underwhelmed with any return.

Hopefully the flames try and balance the roster because right now they are too defense heavy and frankly weren’t that good at defense. If Hamilton has to be sacrificed to balance the team then so be it. I do expect a hell of a haul for him tho.

Given the high expecations (perhaps unrealistically) of the return on a dougie trade. this is going to be a very angry and sad place if he is traded tonight.

See, this is so weird. Is he going to make his next team trade for his brother? So weird.

Hmm, I have faith in Treliving that he would get the most he can for Hamilton and if that isn’t good enough he won’t trade him.

Regarding Hamilton. It was Friedman on the morning show that told a story about Yandle when he was in PHX. His name was always out there. When Friedman talked to Maloney, Manloney said he wasn't trading Yandle, but if he did trade Yandle then you would understand why with the return. I think this is a similar situation, every player is trade-able at the right price. If Treliving sets a high bar and a team meets it, you have to consider it.

I understand the fear of trading Hamilton, he's got a great stat line but his game never blew me away. If we can get nylander from the leafs, or something of that value at forward in return, sign me up.
I doubt anything happens today on the trafe front mind yoy.

I tend to agree with you about nothing happening, but there seems to be a lot of smoke on this one. Haven’t seen this much trade speculation on a player that would be perceived to be in the flames core in a long time. Who knows, maybe it’s all smoke.

This is an extreme low bar to be happy with a Hamilton deal. If this were the deal, I'd be displeased.

If the Flames trade Hamilton for just Nylander Tre should be immediately fired
