The roster isn't good enough
Worst RW depth in the entire league....it's time to face facts. Either upgrade at forward or have a mediocre at best season.

Flames make a trade for a early first rounder. Matthew Tkachuk makes the announcement "The Flames are Proud to select Brady Tkachuk!"

Mike Smith or the team would be lottery territory.

I see what your saying, and that 4th round pick could be Brady. At least then we still have Hamilton in play if we want to add another piece, or shed some salary.

Yeah, and I know you didn’t include the year before on purpose, but acquiring Hamilton was an ok move. When do you suggest Tre improve the roster?

I honestly think that the GG system was so stifling to the average talent players that we really under achieved what we should be.
There are tons of teams in the league that manage just fine with worse forward groups and it was only that GG refused to give any youngsters other than ferkland a chance to play on the top line or refused to shift things around to see what we have.
Let Peters give Foo, Bennett and Ferkland a chance on top line RW and do some minor tinkering but I don't think a huge splash is needed

Could be a lot of action tonight.
Anyone know a pub that would have it on with sound?

-Elliott for a second (and a conditional pick) was good value for a goalie that got them to the playoffs
-The 2016 draft in general had a great haul (Tkachuk, Dube, Fox, Phillips, Parsons)
-The Chiasson/Sieloff trade was excellent value
-Chad Johnson was good value
-The Gaudreau and Monahan extensions were very good work
-The Smith trade was excellent value
-Foo signing was solid
-Shore for a 7th was tidy work
But yeah, Treliving hasn't done anything good in last two years.

I think GG is a good guy, I think he lacks experience in the right areas and is not head coach material. Lots of talented people out there but not everyone is suited to lead the troops.

Solid reply. Needs to have Mutombo finger wag included.

While I generally agree that coaching seems to have caused systemic issues which dramatically affected the Flames' ability to score, I am completely unconvinced that rotating young players in and out of the top line was the solution.

Yeah, he is gone tonight. McGuire's a bit weird but he's not a liar.
