Google is pretty good at telling you these things. You should also google PUA since the stuff you wrote reads like you were quoting a PUA book.

THis is interesting
Are your expectations of them in terms of educational attainment and behaviour the same. I have two girls so am speculating from the outside but one thing that concerns me watching schools and parents set low expectations for boys. I think you can already see the affect in university program erolement especially in the top paying fields.
I think this becomes relevant to this issue as if you train a generation of low achieving males and high achieving females I think you make gender issues worse.

Thanks for letting me know about the all informative tool known as google. Don't know what PUA is either. I just say what I see and I am good with that.

Both genders deserve to be expected highly of, offered the best education, given the best opportunities in sports, education and life in general and overall quality of life.
I want children to be able to exceed limits and achieve what ever they can achieve.

You don't need to worry about your boy. All the other parents of girls will do it for you.

I was being what I assumed was outrageously sarcastic. Kinda telling of our social climate today that it wasn't taken that way.
My expectations for my children are the same, of course. Where do you get the idea that expectations for boys are lower?
The education gap between girls and boys is complex. Some boys are doing fine. But boys tend to have poorer communication and listening skills from the youngest age, so boys who struggle really struggle. Our education system doesn't really doesn't know what to do with boys with ADHD and other behavioural disorders. So boys are drugged at a rate 4 times that of girls. It would be a scandal if the genders were reversed - whoops, that's something only a filthy MRA would say.
We're derailing the thread, so feel free to start a new one if you want to discuss further.

Your sarcasm was obvious to me. Actually surprised that you had to explain.

Blackmail alleged as Governor Greitens admits to extramarital affair
Geez, details here are pretty salacious. Eric Greitens is the Republican governor of Missouri. The dude has an exemplary military record and was a Democrat up until he ran for Governor. The blackmail component of this story, if true, would turn this into a criminal investigation.

So he basically used potential revenge porn as an attempt to keep her quiet. Sounds like a real winner. He should of course resign (and probably be prosecuted), but in the Trump world we live in he just became odds on favorite to win the GOP nomination in 2020 or 2024.

Catching up with last night's Seth Meyers show this morning as I'm getting ready for the day. James Franco is the guest. I see this headline at the same time on my phone:
Five women accuse actor James Franco of inappropriate or sexually exploitative behavior

It seems like there is a pattern with Franco for sure but I kind of had a chuckle reading this;
Quote:
"I felt like I was selected for something based on my hard work and my merit, and when I realized it was because I have nice [breasts], it was pretty clear that was not the case," Dusome said. "I don't think he started teaching with bad intentions, but he went down a bad path and damaged a lot of people in the process."
|
She was selected to do a lingerie shoot at a strip club so I have to ask exactly what merit exactly did she think she got selected on outside of her physical appearance?

There are a lot of issues in Hollywood. But the one lady who accused Franco of exploitation because she signed a contract is just crazy sounding to me.

I think she did an absolute pitiful job explaining the situation on Twitter, but when you read her account of what happened, it does appear to be exploitative in nature if true.
Remember she attended Franco's acting school, which promised to use his productions as a way of advancing their careers. This put him in a position of power, like many teacher-student and boss-employee situations.

Quote:
But one day on set in May 2015, a producer approached her and other women to ask if they wanted to film a “bonus scene” of an orgy. In it, Tither-Kaplan appeared fully nude, she said. A handful of other women were selected to appear with Franco, who simulated performing oral sex on each of them, Tither-Kaplan said. But in each case, she said he removed a clear plastic guard that covered their vaginas — and continued to simulate the sex act with no protection.
Then, Tither-Kaplan said, she and her female co-stars were asked to appear topless in an unscripted scene and dance around Franco while wearing animal skulls atop their heads. One actress who balked was sent home the next day, Tither-Kaplan said.
“I got it in my head pretty quickly that, OK, you don’t say ‘no’ to this guy,” she said.
Another actress who participated in the shoots confirmed Tither-Kaplan’s account of the unscripted sequence that led to the departure of an actress. She also confirmed the removal of the plastic guards.
|
While there have been accusations of rape against Weinstein now, the initial allegations by the likes of Ashley Judd was him inviting young actresses to meetings, which ended up being in his hotel room, where he would try to convince them to have sex or massage him with the promise of advancing their careers (or stopping their careers if they didn't). It was about using his position and power to pressure women into doing something they did not want to do. Arguably, based on Tither-Kaplan account of what happened, Franco wasn't much different in that regard.
