See that Star Destroyer sitting on the ground in the background? Can you imagine feeling the ground anywhere near that place when that thing lands or takes off?
One of the best effects shots in Revenge of the Sith is when Kenobi is leaving for Utapa or whatever and he and Anakin have a conversation. then they film the Venator taking off and the camera shakes and you just feel the power of that ship as it tries to escape gravity.
IIRC from my Star Wars Lore, the Imperial Star Destroyers weren't built to land like the Venator. the Imperial Star Destroyers were nearly 2 kms long someone once calculated its mass at 40 million tonnes In the EU the only vehicle of its class designed to land on the surface of a planet was the Victory Class Star Destroyer. The ISD used landing barges and shuttles to land its assault forces.
The Venator was a lot smaller at 1.1 kms and someone calculated it at about 17 million tonnes because its main body is mostly empty hanger space unlike the ISD which had much smaller hanger space.
The Acclaimer Class that we saw in Attack of the Clones was 750 meters long, was something like 15 million tonnes but it was designed to land on water and land using a repulsor lift system.

Makes you wonder how a Super Star Destroyer could take off from Coruscant then!
The Lusankya was built concurrently with her sister-ship, the Executor. During construction, both ships were provisionally named Executor to make it appear as if only one ship were being built. However, while the Executor was commissioned into Imperial service after completion, the Lusankya was taken to Coruscant and buried beneath the planet's surface. The vessel and its repulsorlift cradle were hidden inside a superframe of girders and electronics before the burial, and were claimed to be a large planetary shield generator. The cityscape was subsequently rebuilt over the ship to hide its location..

Or a villain that looked like a slab of meat encrusted in gold who could open interdimensional rifts in its stomach.
As long as you stick to old republic EU and some of the stuff between ROTS and ANH you get the good stuff. The after star wars stuff is pretty terrible.

Was that from Crystal Star?

If your were a kid that grew up adoring Star Wars, I think most of of us would have a similar emotional reaction... Just very few can articulate the experience the way Kevin Smith can.
I'd probably be walking around the set.. "Holy $!@? Holy $!@? Holy $!@?" With a perma-grin!!!
Kevin Smith is one of the biggest Star Wars geeks in all of the land. Im pretty sure all of his movies have some sort of Star Wars reference in them.
So if he's saying what he said and meaning it, which I believe he is, we should all be excited for what J.J is doing with VII.
My excitement actually got a heartbeat about the new trilogy after watching that Smith interview. I was very very MEH on the whole thing since they announced they were making them.
