Instead they'll be the only team this year to give them a win streak!

1.15 million, which brings their total cap space to 1.53 million. Pickard's hit is .763, so they'll have about .765 left to play with... which allows them to fill a roster slot for a seventh defenseman, the only one they have on contract that fits that cap is Markus Niemelainen, an acceptable six foot six replacement level defenseman.

Principe: "Uh......The Captain....?"
Darryl: "Look at me!!!! I'm the captain now!!!! This team needs to learn to play the right way. They don't know how to play the right way. This team has no stars. It's important to understand that. We can't compare to Vegas or Colorado. No gamebreakers, no impact players. So we need to play Lucic a lot."
Principe: "Uh....Lucic plays for the Bruins now. And I think he's hurt."
Darryl: "Whatever. You know what I'm getting at. This team can't score and has no good players. So we need to play fourth liners a whole lot more. They need to learn how to play the right way. And I'd like to see way more of Vincent Desharnais in the shootout. "
Assembled media: "Uh..........thanks Darryl."

"My farm is right next door to Edmonton. If McWhoIsThat isn't scoring, he can bale some hay for me this weekend."

I hope he doesn't agree to coach the oilers. Despite all the shenanigans of last year, I still highly respect Sutter and his previous history with the flames. The guy is a legend, despite not working out last year.
Hoping this is just a media thing and the beloved Jolly Rancher just heads back to working some cattle. Let the Oilers promote gluegun to ruin the rest of their season and stare at tablets for every goal and call . Maybe he'll toss a stick or two, if Mcdavid says it's ok....

Are there enough of us here to get #BasementBowl trending on X by Thursday? Does anyone know how to hire a Russian Bot farm for a good cause?

Put on the old hip waders and went to HFOil to see how they’re handling this. Answer: Not well. They want Woodcroft fired (they were very jelly over Huska benching a star). They think GG could be better as interim and then of course want Quenneville. But some are talking Sutter (he won’t do it, plus he’d break McDavid), or Boudreau (because once he “fixed” the Caps) and I even saw Hartley mentioned (LOL).

Nobody can save the Oilers.
Not even Darryl Sutter can save the Oilers.
Nobody can save them.
Nobody.

Agreed 100%.
But also: They'd have ruined The Swedish Wall's development by now.
