I can see the press conference now if they hired Sutter.
Principe: "Welcome Darryl. What are your plans to to help this team reach their potential? How do you plan to get the team to support McDavid and Draisaitl?"
Darryl: "Who's McDavid? Which number is Draisaitl?"
Principe: "Uh......The Captain....?"
Darryl: "Look at me!!!! I'm the captain now!!!! This team needs to learn to play the right way. They don't know how to play the right way. This team has no stars. It's important to understand that. We can't compare to Vegas or Colorado. No gamebreakers, no impact players. So we need to play Lucic a lot."
Principe: "Uh....Lucic plays for the Bruins now. And I think he's hurt."
Darryl: "Whatever. You know what I'm getting at. This team can't score and has no good players. So we need to play fourth liners a whole lot more. They need to learn how to play the right way. And I'd like to see way more of Vincent Desharnais in the shootout. "
Assembled media: "Uh..........thanks Darryl."

The Wallstedt thing is arguably one of their biggest mistakes. They missed a chance to add a cornerstone goalie. Instead they dropped down and took Xavier Bougault who....checks notes....is no good.

Does sending down Campbell send a message to the team and they ride with a tandem of Pickard and Skinner? Hardly a scary combo.
Or maybe there is a trade in the works? But for who and what?
The Oilers cap situation is atrocious and they staring down the barrel of another 6.5 million in dead cap next year with Campbell and Brown's bonus(He'll never play again though and retire handsomely as some kind of executive with Oilers)
The only trade chips they have are draft picks(which could be high at this point) and Foegele. Not a heck of a lot to chose from.
A couple more weeks like this and this will be real ugly for the Oil.

I can't keep my Brobergs, Bourgaults, and Bouchards in a row.
Some other Twitter Oiler troll kept saying how he is easily the best goalie in the Pacific.
LOL
No no no, they were saying he would be part of an in game contest and he was going to wins used 2021 Toyota Venza. Was probably just an autocorrect mistake. It’s burnt orange, lots of miles, customized “LETSG0” license plate, and like all their signings the title is salvage.

Wallstedt wouldn't have mattered anyway, by the time he is ready to play in the NHL the oilers will be losing their star players.
Just looking at the standings. They say that if a team is out of the playoffs by American Thanksgiving they almost never make the playoffs. They also say that you need about 96 points to make the playoffs. The oilers would have to win all of their next 11 games to get back to a 96 point pace by Nov 30th.

Well, that fits Edmonton perfectly because they are also...No Good.
With San Jose winning tonight, the game against Edmonton will be the battle for the basement. If San Jose wins, Edmonton will be last tied in points with San Jose.
