I finally watched Aliens and that movie kicks ass, it's a perfect action film. But I prefer Alien, it just made the Xenomorphs more bad ass and mysterious. One was able to take out the whole crew, while this one they could take out so many they felt less intense.
Also, personally I absolutely loved the 4k transfer, it looks spectacular, it's one of the sharpest and crispness transfers I've ever seen, demo worthy disk.
You've upset Bill Paxton.

Team Alien! Good call, while Aliens is fantastic, it just doesn't have the isolating feel of Alien. I always find those last 7 minutes or so incredibly haunting and lonely.

I'm also a big fan of Alien over the others. The tension of the small space and this killing machine running around is perfect.
Aliens is a fun action movie, but I don't think it makes me actually feel something the same way Alien did. When I first watched Alien I could actually hear my heart beating at certain points.

I know my Paxton versus Pullman. Pullman was really good in Rocketeer, very underrated movie. As was Paxton in The Phantom. Those were the good years growing up and being introduced to Jennifer Connelly and Catherine Zeta-Jones in their prime.

I just can't like Harry Potter. I've tried, I saw the first two films plus one or two others in theatre, I read the books. But the movies just don't do it for me. The Philosopher's Stone is so goddam cloy, simplistic, and filled with cliches, I couldn't stand it. I know the characters and story grow with the series, but the seeds of distain have already been planted, and I doubt I have the emotional maturity to uproot this sentiment.
Nevertheless, I'll give Chamber of Secrets a shot tomorrow.

My daughter is getting into Harry Potter and we are starting to watch them.
The first 2 are definitely a bit simplistic and childish and don’t get the series off to a great start. It really finds its legs on movies 3-5 when more darker themes are introduced. Then you have 6 and 7 that are a bit of a mess followed by 8 being an epic satisfying conclusion.
