Have to wonder what The Wizard is thinking watching this.

I think the Flames get outworked too much, too many passengers!

Trade Johnny before it’s too late, seriously consider if Tkachuk is worth what he’s going to want, Gio is on about hole 17, maybe already hit his 18th tee shot.

The pretending that this team is something is sad. It’s a middle of the pack team. Without moves it’ll stay that way and then get worse when we lose guys for sweet #### all.
Gios been enjoying a post round brew in the clubhouse 99% of this season. The 18th hole seems long ago.

So you think Treliving should have canvassed every guy Peters coached in the minors. That’s a bit much.

They’ve had three lines that worked well:
Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
Tkachuck-Backlund-Mangiapane
Dube-Bennett-Lucic

There is definitely an improvement on all three defense pairings with Tanev and Valimaki.

There is a bona fide starter goalie.

Why the F is Ward screwing around with the above three lines? He can use a whole bunch of plugs on the 4th line - Simon, Leivo, Robinson etc. So frustrating to watch...

I see the team differently. They tried their best but cannot compete due to the lack of capable players. Incompetence cannot be overcome by hard-work. Hard work can only help so much. Tkachuk, his half ass no look pass is his trademark now. I wonder if he will do the same when he crosses the road.

The flames were not ready to play, again, but since the 10 minutes mark of the first, they’re been controlling this game.

Every mistake has ended up in their net, and they (like usual) can’t generate dangerous chances at all, but this has overall been one the better efforts that I’ve seen, which is of course pretty ####in sad

Holtby has been pretty good too

This is time if you want make coaching change. But they will keep Ward as can't afford another coach and pay to Ward same time.

That gives me the impression that even if the Flames do manage to claw their way into a playoff berth (likely on the shoulders of Markstrom) it'll be completely academic as they don't stand a chance of doing anything there.
Okay but if the posts were like yours with some thought behind them it wouldn't be nearly as bad. But so many are not discussions, it's just venting. Airing of the grievances.

Like I said, toxic.

For one good game?

I'd send a message by giving it to Mangiapane or Dube.

I mean yeah, but it's not without cause. The team is frustrating to watch, so people are frustrated and venting those frustrations.

Honestly, I find it much worse in the games where it's just constant whining about the refs...

Meh - the 2004 Flames had far fewer “capable players”. A whole bunch were out of the league in short order. But they went to the finals by hard work and on the backs of a couple elite guys.

It's actually kind of annoying that because I think the coach is a problem it's toxic but any old Gudreau sucks post is just fine.

Some sloppy Flames play, no consistency or plan to their offense.

Also, I've always wondered why the Flames don't employ more aggressive defensive tactics. They've been doing this for years too; whenever the opposing team has the puck in their zone, they don't play an aggressive style. The Canucks do, and its incredibly effective, and stifling.

This is true, but not because Gio doesn't care. You can see he still wants to make the clutch plays, but he's just too slow now. I find it really sad actually, because Gio is so likeable and was so, so good just two years ago. Time can be cruel when you're a pro athlete.
