I know it's a well known fact, but boy when large amounts of water starts moving in one direction very fast there is pretty much nothing that stands in it's way.

I'll put this out again:

Extra bed in apartment in un-evacuated end of west Beltline for anyone that needs a place to stay.

Option for evacuees from downtown, East Village, east Beltline areas because of current and upcoming road closures.

PM if you need a place to stay.

Water is patient, Water just waits. Wears down the cliff tops, the mountains. The whole of the world. Water always wins.

Your posts haven't come across dickish, they've come across uneducated and off topic.

Damnit, I've been waiting for an email from my work all night but nothing. Guessing they're expecting everyone to try to make it in regardless? I really hope I see something on my phone tomorrow morning

Keep checkin your basement and keep trying to redirect it as best you can. If need be get a shovel and dig a little trench and see if you can get any to drain into an alley or swale if your able. If your real concerned get a puddle pump from Home Depot or Rona and get it going to pump water out of your yard to the street.

Apparently Deer Run and Riverbend are next on the evacuation list and they will be the last for the night.

In Hillhurst, evac in Sunnyside comes up to almost 2 blocks from my place on 10th street. Was at the river an hour ago and the east side of 10th is coming over, but the west side near the new Memorial tree area had around 6 feet before the water came up. Still in Hillhurst, hoping not to get woken up in the middle of the night

If no one takes it can I come over. I'll order pizza, bring popcorn. We can pop in a movie and talk about local projects and Calgary transit all night in our jammies.

Are flood damages insurable or not, like those Canmore Cougar Creek houses? Would those owners be able to rebuild by filing insurance claim? I ask because I kind of remember Acts of God are not insurable.

I really wish CPS would be more clear on "downtown, East Village" vs. "downtown East Village".
