Auto payment subscriptions tick me off.
I went to Adobe to cancel my subscription with them since I wouldn't be using their software this summer with my commitments and since it's a pretty hefty monthly charge to not be using it. So I confirm that I want to cancel and it says I get 60 days free before it ends (I presume to help the user change their mind).. except 60 days later Adobe just up and starts charging me again the full subscription amount. I had to terminate it from PayPal's end to finally end the auto payments.
My AV software did the same thing after presumably canceling my subscription with them. Full year charge though! Automatic with no notification e-mail or anything.
####ing terrible system on these things and they make it tricky to terminate them properly.
IMO everything should be month to month with a manual OK needed from the user. At the very least notification of upcoming charges and a prompt that can send you to where you can can cancel if needed.

The wannabe insiders and those that give them credibility.
It's always the same story, one little nugget, that's probably true, the hockey world is small and we all know someone or someone that knows someone. They share that one information, get some rush from it, then suddenly every single transaction in the leauge they've got a handle on.

Same quasi fame mentality as dash cam guys on the road. They get one legitimate crazy/dangerous incident that goes viral online and suddenly they just pump out weekly videos of nothingness where they scream into the video "heyyy, heyyyy!! *honnnnnnnnkkkkkkk!!!" while drivers make tiny, insignificant errors that they correct well in time.
Dashcam heroes with feelings of celebrity are just the worst.

As much as I hated late comers for food orders when I was younger, you still gotta be professional. And I wasn't even that late.
Closed at 10, I showed up around 9:35, he asked me what order I was picking up, to which I replied I was making one. He acted all exasperated about it, and was visibly rolling his eyes while inputting the order. Then sighed as he huffed passed me and turned off the open sign around 9:40.

Oh man, people who think the time before ‘closed’ is effectively closed really irk the #### out of me.
If the time between closing and end of your shift isn’t enough to do what needs to be done, that’s between you and your boss. Don’t get passive aggressive with me for supporting the damn business during their business hours.

No way if you go to a restaurant and sit down within 30 minutes of closing you are an #######. Go somewhere else or go earlier.
I think doing take out at 25 min before close is probably marginally okay as you will be out of the store before closing.
But in general don’t make peoples ####ty jobs more ####ty.

If you can reasonably complete your business by closing time and be out the door by then you're fine, imo, so it depends where you are. Showing up at a steakhouse for dine-in 30 minutes to close -YTA. Showing up at subway 10 minutes to close, you're fine - it takes less time than that to order, make and pay for a sandwich.
The library is ridiculous for that as well - the last 15 minutes they're open is unusable.

It’s the establishment’s responsibility to manage seatings. Why are your doors open and the lights on if you’re actually closed?
It’s the nature of the business. Don’t like it, don’t work in a restaurant.

Or you can be nice to the staff that work there. Just because management makes the staff seat you doesn’t mean you should go.

Lol. How rude of me to eat at this food establishment while it’s still open for another half an hour!
I guess it’s nicer to just not go at all.

Pfft! Hogwash!
The staff always take a risk that they can close on time, if some Juggalo shows up a half hour before close then the staff have to serve them and the customer just has to deal with the time honored tradition of the staff bitching and complaining about it.
This is the Way.

'back in the day' i worked in a kitchen at a couple of restaurants.
at the one job (which i LOVED!) we were "open" until 10pm. did that mean that at 10pm we shut everything off and went home? ha - not a chance! the waitresses made sure any customers had their food orders in by 10pm so we could get the last of the food cooked and then we could start turning stuff off and start cleaning the kitchen so it was ready for the morning crew... which took probably around 90 minutes.
i only remember one time that a large group came in right before 'closing'. the waitress was great and explained to them that the kitchen would be shutting down in the next 10 minutes so they had to order right away. that was great becuz pretty much all of the food was quick easy stuff (mostly appies) and only a couple of 'main dishes' - which were still fairly quick to throw together.
all it meant was cleaning the kitchen got delayed 20 minutes - no big deal.
i think some people just should not work in the 'service' industry if they get all bent out of shape when customers show up close to closing. it's not like at closing time you lock the doors, turn out the lights and you leave. there is always lots of cleaning and prep that needs to get done.... at least that's the way it was when i worked in restaurants.
the front of house staff would inform customers that the restaurant is closed - but they can still stay, however, staff is busy cleaning and prepping for morning, but they are welcome to stay. customers would just finish their meals and go home - happy that they were able to get some food.

Yes, this was take out. And my food was ordered at 9:35 and ready by 9:42. I'm purposely omitting the business name because they're normally great and I like them, and this site has an effect on local perceptions of businesses.
I think the cook got left in the last hour without front facing staff and just acted like a ****head because he doesn't understand that side of the business, and was perhaps a bit flustered by being responsible for everything.

As someone who has worked in the service industry, this is ridiculous. Closing time is understood to mean "no more orders can be sent to the kitchen and no new tables will be seated". Closing doesn't mean "my shift is over and I get to leave immediately".
