Nope, Brad Larsen was HC of the Jackets until the 2022-23 season, when KJ enjoyed a 40-point season. This past season, it was Pascal Vincent- who was fired. Vincent scratched KJ multiple times, and had him banished to the AHL for a 10-game stretch, where he scored 15 points.

Interestingly enough Sillinger wasn't too hot under Larsen. In fact, Bean had a better production on a per game basis(0.38PPG), and he's a defenseman.

Morin was just signed by the Flames, he’s not being traded.

Saw a rumor the other day that Kylington might be a target for STL, after potentially losing Krug.
Krug was diagnosed with pre-arthritic changes in his left ankle and will be evaluated in 6-8 weeks. Essentially he will first try rehab for 6-8 weeks so he can attempt to avoid surgery, but if he needs surgery he will miss the entire season.

I just want Rasmus and Coleman traded for nice futures so we can tank more while still having very solid leadership in Backlund, Kadri, Weegar, Huberdeau.
Also would be interested in taking a shot at Kappo Kaako. I’d take KK on if we got a late 1st with it.

Any decent value-priced free agents left? The summer is rolling by.

There's a few, with Sprong being the most notable name. Tyler Johnson and Justin Schultz, and some guys who maybe need a bounceback in Sammy Blais and Tyson Barrie.
Nick Cousins if you want to go the douhcebag route.

Guys like Gurianov and Vrana are still FA's but I don't understand what's happened with guys like this
They looked like budding young stars and then just completely dropped off.
Sprong is still out there as well, but we don't really need guys like this on the Flames IMO

I think the Flames are done. If anything they maybe make a trade.

People seemed to think the Flames and Barrie were going to get together on a deal, but I think he's still a FA so I doubt that is going to be a thing.

I don’t think we have roster space for low end players left. We already have too many forwards and defensemen where the Hunts, Pelletiers, Solovyov, Kuznetsovs may be start with the Wranglers again.

He's a ####head. I would definitely take him on the Flames, everyone would love him. I'm surprised he hasn't found a team yet.

Nylander
Are probably wingers the Flames would look at as experiments to get Huberdeau going and could be had on cheap 1 year deals hoping to revive their careers. Might even get one or two on PTOs to see if there is any chemistry before committing.
But the Flames also currently have too many wingers, so hard to see it happening.
Rick Dahliwal reported yesterday the Canucks have a lot of interest in Sprong.

Apparently Laine is working out in Florida with some NFL guys.

Different local accent… but very interesting.

Unfortunately, I don't see Vrana as an option for the Flames. His struggle with substance abuse, and mental health, completely derailed his career.
I was really high on the guy when DET traded him, but I think that now he's exactly the type of PTO to block a guy like Coronato or Pelletier from getting reps in the top 9 during camp.
---
I would actually be more interested in the D that are still out there, depending on their health. Most notably Klingberg, he just wasn't the same player over the last 2 seasons. He would bring fast, smooth skating, and a good transition game if he's recovered from the hip surgery.
Hoffman is an interesting guy, because he still plays with speed. For some reason, he has been shooting a lot less. Like half as many shots last season. I would be okay with a PTO, but I think that Mantha already has that spot locked.

NYR wants a first for KK
They aren't going to trade him WITH a 1st.

I am not on the Kakko train, I don’t see much there. Overhyped due to his draft position.
