What are you basing this on? Kane may not be a defensive specialist, but he isn't a liability either. In the below article Hitchcock and Quenneville have praised his defensive play:

http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/blac...ve-defense-too

Quote:
Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville has witnessed Kane’s defense make a difference, too.

“Offensively, you never had to worry about Kaner,” Quenneville said. “I just think he’s added to that part of the game where he’s growing and being more responsible on both sides.

“Kaner has gotten better every year. I think this year it’s the most noticeable improvement in his game. All areas of the game without the puck and all zones, he’s going to the right areas. Defensively in his own end, he’s killing a lot of plays. He’s positionally strong and aware, backside pressure as well. He’s really progressed. I thought this year was his biggest step.”
Quote:
St. Blues coach Ken Hitchcock was already terrified about playing Kane, and Kane’s defensive awareness has only heightened that.

“He makes you nervous. He makes you nervous as a coach, and he makes you nervous as a player. Because you have to protect the puck and be so careful out there that sometimes you get nervous when it’s up for grabs. He’s a guy where we have clips (that) he’s not in the zone and then he’s got the puck. You wondering how the hell it happened, but he just knows how to make himself available.”

To each their own.
Who wouldn't want Gaudreau to be Patrick Kane? I don't think anyone is saying that. The comparisons are made based on their styles of play (which is fine if you disagree) - I don't think anyone is saying that Gaudreau is going to be the next Patrick Kane.

Cool, I'll reiterate that I don't care about the comparisons, was just pointing out your continued ignorance.

28 goals is a good number but "elite"?

Come on, simmer down.

Seems like you really don't care about much except acting like an ass towards people on the internet.

"....GOAL!...GOAL!"
lol

Also I've never seen Backlund make moves like that in a Flames jersey..wow. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for him. Actually had to go back and pause to make sure it was him.

He's done it more than a few times this year.

I think people take offense to comparisons with players on the oilers is because the oilers are no good.

Ah another thread were Oil Stain embarrasses himself then resorts to getting grumpy and deflects from the topic. Becoming a bit of a trend lately.

I really don't see alot of Kane in Gaudreau's game. I think Gaudreau would be more of a Steve Sullivan like player.

He's a hybrid of Kane/Sullivan imo.. tough to compare him to just one player.

JG is the most exciting prospect for the Flames in the past 10 years, hands down. (Ok, Sven was pretty exiting too for a while) . No guarantees he turns into anything but it's a fun time to be a fan
