Yep. Once the 700mhz auction is over and the carriers deploy LTE over it, then you'll see some impressive results.
Right now its just a small taste.

And there is no set date for unlocked iPhone 5 sales.
I bought from the online store just to get an unlocked one after the apple store here said they will not be selling them right off the bat. That might have changed recently however I'm not up on all things apple.

I asked yesterday and they said they don't have any date yet as to when they'll have unlocked iPhone 5's physically in the store.

Actually, it looks to me that the prices are the same, no? I checked apple.ca and .com and the prices for the 16 are both $699. Or did apple.com direct me to Canadian prices.

The US website only shows prices on contract, they are not selling them unlocked there yet. Canada only for now (and really, Apple.ca only)

Ok I'm buying one! I tried out LTE and it is blazing fast.
I had planned on sitting this out because I have time left on my contract. But Telus will give me $145 to trade-in my current phone, so the cancellation fee is pretty much negated. Plus the new promo plan is both better and cheaper than my current plan.
Just have to wait for them to get one in-store...I'm very excited!

If anybody is burning over the loss of google maps for the purposes of transit, check out The Transit App ( http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/the-t...498151501?mt=8). Yes, it's annoying to need a separate app, but the design is beautiful, it works in Calgary and it's free. There is an in-app purchase that lets you see more stops around you or download the transit info for offline viewing, but the free version works just fine for me.

Yay lets see a $500 apple! Apple down after the iphone 5 fails to meet analysts expectations plus a 2000+ person riot at their Foxconn plant in China.

Well they better hit that 50 million mark for this quarter. Which is an insane number. Considering it's at it's all time high and is the largest market cap company in the world it has to hit it out of the park every time.
I don't think they can do that unless they ban all S3 sales in the world.

hmmm people said the same thing to me when NFLX was at $300 and i thought it was a $90 stock... hehe

Has anybody found a reliable online source for inexpensive accessories? I usually buy from dx.com but they still show their iPhone 5 accessories as "coming soon."
It's killing me to just have 1 charging cable; but I also don't want to spend $30 for another.

you'll find em in the next week or two IMO, most sources on ebay are still pre-orders as well.
DX should be one of the first to have em, tbqh

Anyone going to put a case on this? Screen protector? It's such a beautiful phone I don't want to add anything on it.

The new cables have a chip in them, so they might be a little more difficult to copy than the old ones. I imagine we'll eventually see cheap knockoffs, but perhaps not right away.
