It really is nice to see Moscow Mitch going down. Trump was a train wreck. Mitch was a pure political operative who supported that train wreck for his own ends.
It would be cathartic to move the Supreme Court to more justices just to put a dagger into his biggest accomplishment.

Can Democrats easily expand the Supreme Court if they control the Senate too? Or rather, would they do it?

What would more almost make 2016 worth it is seeing Trump and his bank of criminals and thugs in prison.

People can enjoy this, but I'm willing to bet if you asked McConnell if he'd take stacking the hell out of the Supreme Court and the lower courts for a term out of power he'd take it and run.
And it will be a term, since the Republicans are going to successfully run on fiscal prudence, again, even though they caused this mess, again. Because voters have short memories and it's effective.

announcing Garland as AG on the day that McConnell loses the majority in the Senate is just perfect.

Sometimes, I really love Biden's not so subtle pettiness. This is one of those times.

The Washington Post just answered that question - 1932, Herbert Hoover
Quote:
When President Trump lost in November, he joined some select and unpleasant company: presidents who failed to win a second term. Modern presidents most often win reelection, including all three of Trump’s immediate predecessors. Trump became just the 10th elected president to run a second time and lose.
And Tuesday’s results in Georgia are now in line to put him among an even-more select group: presidents who not only lost the reelection, but also lost both chambers of Congress.
Raphael Warnock’s win and fellow Democrat Jon Ossoff’s current lead, if it holds, would give Democrats 50 votes in the Senate and effective control, by virtue of Vice President-elect Kamala D. Harris breaking ties. That would mean the GOP lost the House in 2018 and now the presidency and the Senate in 2020, after it came into office holding all three levers of power.
Trump would become the first elected president since the Great Depression to lose all three in a single term, and he would join just five other presidents in doing so.

What a banana republic. This counting of the vote crap looks like something out of a high school play.

Was it a "banana republic" when they did the same thing for every other election....ever?
It's just procedure and part of the election code....nothing more and part of the checks and balances of governing that union.
The only thing making this any different is the obtuse ball of orange hate that has mezmerized others into believing he is a king and not subject to voters will, and in doing so is having them object to legitimate voting figures....which is their right even if completely misguided.

Yeah maybe they should wake the eff up and realize it's no longer the 18th century. Imagine if Canada did this? Dog and pony show.
