I think Sec has diminished confidence in Conroy's ability to "drive this boat".
Perhaps a bad move on the way?

I don't want to bring that potential issue into the organization.

Using that logic there's no sense in trading for Smith, Michkov, Cowan, etc. or else we might hurt somebody's feelings. They all have to be good enough to earn it.
Unless I am misunderstanding your post and you are arguing against guaranteeing a roster spot to anybody, in which case I do agree.

Just another example of why a Canadian team needs to stay away from drafting American NCAA players and it's only going to get worst.

The Flames definitely need to trade Coronato for a 7th-round pick while they still can. He'll never sign here.

I get it but they still make me nervous, especially the ones born with silver spoons stuck in their arses.

I know, right? Players should never exercise their rights, or do what’s in their best insterests.
Especially those that had everything gifted to them.

No idea if there is anything to these GIFs, but Sec likes to post after midnight and whether its the Flames, Conroy, Sec, whoever. No good decisions come then.

Unless someone asks out, can’t imagine anything happening until camp.
The team is stuffed with players. So probably not a FA signing inbound.
How are we for coaches? Full house?

I think sec is talking about the mcgroarty situation, in which he thinks he is entitled to an automatic roster spot.

My point in using that description was more general: that people seem extremely eager to trade away our better, experienced players for nearly anything unproven. Only requisite seems to be a pulse and age below 23.
Maybe we shouldn’t be throwing our best centreman into a package the minute someone dangles an unproven player or a draft pick.

The team has many competing interests... trying out players in different spots, putting future trade assets in positions to maximize their return, creating a fun (if not good) product for fans to watch, etc. etc. Have to balance those interests.
The best way to do that is to put Pospisil on the fourth line (ideally as a C). Him and Lomberg will be fun to watch, he plays a type of game that will be suited to playing on a traditional 4th line, it creates a spot in the top 9 for a different player (less suited for a traditional 4th line) to show what he can do. Having him play C on the 4th gives him development opportunities he wouldn't have on the wing on a higher line... yeah he'd get less minutes per game but he'd be a more important player for those minutes. Besides these are only opening day line-up speculation... I assume that at least two spots will open up on or before the TDL.
Fuctionally speaking we have 1 spot outside the 4th line to fill and IMO Pelletier and Coronato (the two along with Pospisil most likely to be competing for it) aren't suited to 4th line duty unless the team takes a departure from what 4th lines are expected to usually to do (and the Calgary Flames aren't a franchise really known for departing from standard deployments).
YMMV but I like Lomberg - Pospisil - Klapka way more then Pelletier - Rooney - Lomberg.

Because we have too many wingers...and if he wants a shot at playing center (As Conroy has said) then working him in as a center on the 4th line makes the most sense to start the season.
I also would be playing those 4 lines pretty evenly at 5v5 if I was coach...so that would be the other thing too.
