…said no one… ever! Emotional range of a teaspoon in anything I’ve had to sit through. Never mind the Twilight crap, WTF was with Snow White and the huntsman? Only thing she was a natural at was lying in a coma.
Just like Robert Pattison, she's come a long way since Twilight. Have you seen Spencer? Her Diana was uncanny.

Not a movie that would make onto my watch list, but it wouldn’t surprise me to know she could play a British royal. Right role, right director can sometimes pull out a good performance? Kind of like Brendan Fraser?
Watched Dune 2. It's an incredible film. Good performances all-around (yes, including Zendaya and Yeet Skrrt). What astounds me with this movie, and even much lesser movies, is the amount of detail that goes into this sort of thing.
The intricate costumes, bringing insane set designs to life, usage of colour depending on what the scene/act is... it goes on and on. Nevermind basic plot, character and story.
It's incredible to me the effort it takes to make a mediocre movie and is incomprehensible to me what it takes to elevate it beyond that like Dune.
What the hell is dead ochra and cabinet robot filler?
I am 100% open to hearing differing opinions but I legit don't understand these comments
Spoiler!
My guess is they're referring to the blight that is affecting crops on Earth, the most recent of which is okra. They are also referencing CASE and TARS, the two robots in the movie that look like walking, digital file cabinets.

Ya Dune was incredible, grand, epic, mind blowing, riveting. I must see it again.
Except I didn’t love Chris Walken as the emperor. After all the talk of Zendaya, and she was a bit wooden as usual, most of the cast killed it, especially Rebecca Ferguson. Even Elvis was fine. But Walken as the emperor just didn’t work for me. Minor gripe but I didn’t love his casting.

If at all possible, see this on the biggest screen you can, it's so epic that it will add to the experience IMO. I feel like this is going to get a bunch of technical Oscar noms next year, the cinematography had major Lawrence of Arabia vibes
Saw it in IMAX yesterday. I thought it was just ok.

Wow, I skipped that one because I think Emma Stone has terrible BO and it prevents me from enjoying anything she does. I also don't think she flosses.
Anyway, I'll give it a go based on the comments in here and hopefully be able to set my bias aside.
You seem to have a hate on for female roles. I remember your disdain for the Indiana Jones actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge, claiming she wasn't 'hot enough'.
Given your predispositions, Poor Things may not be 'your thing'.

Javier Bardem really stood out to me, the guy's got incredible depth. His portrayal of Stilgar brought a nice blend of seriousness and menace, while at the same time conveying the character's unwavering faith.
We got hints of his performance in the first movie, but he plunged right into the deep end in Part Two

Bardem was perfect casting for that role as a long-time lover of the books. Exactly like I imagined.

He got a couple really good laughs too. He was perfectly cast.
I watched a super strange hidden gem of a Canadian horror movie yesterday PIN. The basic premise is; Isolated by his strange parents, Leon finds solace in an imaginary friend, which happens to be an anatomy doll from his father's doctor office. Unfortunately, the doll begins to take over Leon's life, and his sister's life as well.
Super creepy and well done I was thoroughly impressed with it. Not sure if it's streaming anywhere I watched it on disk.

Watching an older 10 part mini-series from 2010, I think it is - The Pacific. Finding it quite interesting. Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman produced it.

An under appreciated show.
Many poopoo it as a poor cousin of Band of Brothers, but it stand on it's own well and highlights the ferocity of the fighting compared to the European Theatre

Anyway I found Killers of the Flower Moon to be the worst Scorsese film I can remember enduring. So unbearably generic and predictable, ok acting I guess, poorly paced and the writing was mediocre. I’m hard pressed to say anything nice about it other than it does look like a professional film. Probably an hour too long at least
Interesting. I'm currently reading the book (got it for Christmas), which has been great so far, and has me interested to see the movie afterwards. Sounds like a classic case of the book being far better than the movie.
