Not only did sleepy Bran get Hodor, Summer and Raven murdered, but that tree girl was apparently there when King Ice Zombie was created...meaning she was probably the oldest character in the entire world.
His wight dream reminded me of that time Frodo put on the ring to hide from the wraiths but got stabbed anyways.

Wow, that was one of the hardest deaths to take in a while. Did not see that coming.

Crazy episode. Few things, though. Will the 3 eyed Raven, Hodor, Summer now become ice walkers? At least the tree nymph had the common sense to blow herself up.
Thats nuts now that some key players n the series are now going to be batting for the blue guys.

No wonder why Hodor flipped every time there was a thunder storm. He thought he was going to die.

Everything in the north this episode reminded me of Fellowship of the Ring. I expected the Child of the Forest to yell "You shall not pass!" at the wight horde. I mean, they even had wights scrambling down the walls and ceiling of the tunnel, very reminiscent of the goblins chasing the heroes in whatever that dwarf city was called that I can't be bothered to look up.
Did anyone else think that Baelish was just flat out lying about Riverrun? I'm not sure to what end, but I certainly didn't take that timely bit of information at face value.
And I need to re-watch the episode where Varys unboxes the wizard from the earlier seasons. I want to compare his description of that ritual to the one the fire priestess recounted to him in this episode.

I wonder why they didn't get Sean Bean for the flashback?

Which Flashback? The one at the tower? Ned was supposed to be much younger, it's been 20-25 years since roberts rebellion, something like that. Joffrey was what, 16?

I guess I am the only one that thought Hodor was corny and annoying. I am glad we won't be seeing much more of him. I did find the flashback sequence cool though and how it explained what "Hodor" means.

No, the one before Hodor freaks about 46 minutes in. . I assume he is talking to Bran and says "Try to stay out of fights. But if you have to fight, win." Unless I've got characters mixed up, and that isn't Ned.

Ned Stark would be the child in that flashback.

I believe that was Rickard sending Ned to Riverrun.

So Bran just enslaved Hordor's mind to save himself. Not the most noble thing to do.
Also you think that the 3 eyes raven would have mentioned to Bran not to touch a white walker. I like the white walker origin story. I wonder if they always were turned against the children of the trees or if they fought for them originally.
Where are Theon and his sister going. Will they go over to Mareen with their current ships to get there first so that they can ally with Denaryis and steal their uncles ships first.

Yah a bit off considering a few episodes back when they did a flashback with Bran they had a young actor that looked like Sean Bean. Then they get a guy that looks nothing like him playing the older part.

Yeah that's the issue I have with the scene. I would have preferred to see Hodor man up and save the day...not possessed Hodor saving the day.

Are people getting the flashbacks confused? The ones at winterfell with hodor are when Ned was a young boy about to get sent off to the eyrie. The one where ned and co fought the two knights was at the end of Roberts rebellion, where ned would be a young man.
