That's a whole lotta book talk going on in a thread that has a books off limits warning in the title. And that's coming from the guy who is literally the reason the warning was put there.

Nothing with spoilers, and my responses were direct responses about the show, no?

Apparently episode 6 is online already after HBO accidentally uploaded it last night to HBO Norway.

Welp, I guess from this point forward, any time I need someone to hold the elevator door for me, I'm just gonna yell out "Hodor!" and hope they get it.

Because the episode leaked early I saw a minor spoiler, so I knew someone was going to die, but it still didn't prepare me for this. Ugh. Why couldn't it be Bran? 😢

They must have an oil CEO at the helm. "This show is costing too much, kill/cut everyone possible this year. Base staff only...and no wolves."

It's pretty clear that they are setting up Bran to be a major ####ing player in this war against the White Walkers. Thank jeebus he didn't die.
Even so...RIP Summer and Hodor. That scene of him holding the door and the sad GOT theme overplayed was pretty tough to take.
Interesting that the Ironborn, a culture known for honor and tradition, are so easily willing to overlook treason. Convenient that they completely skipped over the Kingsmoot and its point in the story. By interesting and convenient, I mean lame and lazy.
Dany forgiving and needing Jorah so suddenly after her expulsion was a bit rapid, but I get that they have approximately 10 hours of screen time to work with, and the motivations make sense, so that is a "cancel out" in terms of story and characterization.
Tyrion and Varys continue to nail it in their limited screen time. However, whenever I see another Red Priest and their declarations towards the Lord and Azor Ahai I keep thinking of the directionless mob in Life of Brian...he's the messiah!!!
Sansa's progression towards becoming Catelyn is heading in the right direction, and it was great to see her challenge Littlefinger. It was one of the few times in the show that we have seen Baelish caught off guard at a challenge, as if he never expected Sansa to be strong enough to call him on his BS and manipulation. As much as I wanted to see Brienne slash him in half, I know he is vitally important to the end game and I don't want to see it sluffed off here.
Briemund continues to entertain. Love that angle.
Lots of other little stuff in that episode that is worth analysing, but I don't have the energy to go on.
I'm about 50/50 on that episode.

So Ned hears Bran at the tower, and Hodor gets double warged like 30 years apart...how the hell do those flashbacks work, is it some sort of closed time loop?

Geez some of you overthink this. It's magic and not our universe, thinks work differently.
That was an awesome episode. That final scene...wow.
