It’s not a huge cost to move.

It's more that he has a 5.5 million dollar bonus to be paid on September 1st. After that he's "only" owed 2 million in base salary for the rest of the year.

For a team who maybe doesn't want to risk falling below the Cap Floor if they had to sell a couple larger salary's. Price's contract essentially represents 8 million dollars in consumed cap space that you're not paying for. Don't really know who is in that situation that anyone needs to do this move. In the far fetched world where the Flames off Kadri, Backlund, Coleman, and Anderson...than maybe they could use that contract type of thing. Obviously not going to happen in real life.

that's a good guess and you are probably right, but I would put Jimmy Snuggerud ahead of Leonard
