I for one want to see some of these fans of the winning teams backing there team when there team goes 1-15 or 3-13. It will happen eventually every team needs to rebuild eventually. I want to see them support them and watch them almost every sunday eventhough it is painful to watch. Those are my favorite fans, the ones that stick with it no matter what.

On the other hand I want people to give credit to the fans who stick through there team going through the bad times when they finally win a superbowl. I know for a fact I will enjoy a superbowl win (if the dolphins ever do it again), more than the casual football fan who becomes a dolphin fan because I know what it felt like to go through a year at 1 -15.

With that being said the Lions fans (that remain) are definately diehards and must have the toughest skin, they've never really recovered since Sanders retired.

Lean years are when you really find out how much of a fan you really are. You know your team is likely going to lose, part of you wants to hate the team....but you just can't. Even though you know the Packings and Vikings will be a lights out game that you should watch, you still tune in to watch your team play the Raiders hoping that you get to see one of their wins. But you don't have that fear of losing, and when they do win again, it's that much sweeter.

Admittedly, I became a Saints fan in the late 80's when the Dome Patrol was leading the team, but there have been a LOT of lean years since then. It did make this Super Bowl victory much sweeter for me. I refused to watch the game at a friend's house for fear of crying like a schoolgirl, win or lose.

I was living in New Orleans during the Ditka years. Being in the military, we used to get free tickets to any nationally televised game just so the NFL wouldn't black out the game locally. Now I've been on the season ticket waiting list since 2006.

The Washington Redskins remain willing to unload defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, according to league sources, in hopes of dealing him prior to the draft. Haynesworth has made a poor impression with new coach Mike Shanahan, according to sources, and attempts to deal him to Philadelphia were not isolated.

Will anyone take that contract? I don't see it happening.

Well I'm still cheering for the 49ers.

The hardest part is when you see really poor management and coaching in place, and the team is bad with little hope for improvement. With my franchise it was when the Yorks gained control of the team, tried to run it VERY cheaply (they would charge players for stamps for mailing a letter from the facilities) and brought in disastrous managers and coaches (Dennis Erikson still hurts).

I'm a big believer in rebuilding from within. Trades can plug a position but you need young talent to push the established players and take over when the veterans start to slide. Those are the teams who contend year after year. It has been a while since the Niners have been in that position but with 2 1st round picks this year after a 8-8 season last year it feels like they are on the cusp of being a contender.

And that feeling that your team is almost there, that you watched your team come back from obscurity, makes sticking with your team worth the 1-15 seasons.

In the NFL you have to build through the draft moreso than any other sport. Most players taken in the first 3 rounds should have a chance to play for their team, and guys in the first round should not only start but make some type of impact. Guys taken in the 4th and 5th rounds can be depth, and help you on Special teams. It's a deep feeder system and a game where the average career is 3-4 years.

It's no mistake that a team like the Patriots is sitting there with 3 picks in the second round, the Eagles have like 11 picks. These teams may not win this coming year, but over the next 5, they'll be in the playoffs more often than not.

There were stories that Haynesworth was offered to Philly in the Mcnabb deal and Philly basically laughed at them. No way anyone makes a deal for this guy unless the Skins pick a major portion of that price tag.

Haynesworth is good when he is motivated. he is no longer motivated with that $40mil in guaranteed money.

Saints sign DE Alex Brown to a 2 year deal.

Good replacement for Charles Grant, a guy that never performed to his ability after getting his big money deal. Should help with the Saints lackluster run defense.

Great move, a nice upgrade on the field and in the dressing room. Grant had consistent weight and motor issues, not to mention the off the field problems.

On a serious note - who are the bright spots on the KC defence? I don't follow the Chiefs very close so I want to know from the KC fans.

Dorsey and Jackson look like busts. Flowers and Carr look pretty good. D Johnson is really good.

What position are they going to target in the draft?

Jackson is an end in a 3-4 defence...tough to call him a bust yet. Ends in a 3-4 seldom put up much for stats. He was a reach of a pick, but I think Pioli got caught with a high pick that he couldn't sell, so he stuck to his core phillosophy of spend money on the lines for players who can fill those positions for a number of years.

Johnson and Glen Dorsey are pretty much misfits in a 3-4 defence. Johnson has athletic ability, maybe Romeo can make him work in the middle. Dorsey should be a tackle in a 4-3, not suited to play nose tackle in the NFL, and not really a great end.

Todd Haley seems to love Demarrio Williams...I think he's pretty average. Tamba Hali made the transition from end to rushing OLB pretty well for a guy that size.

Needs are numerous....nose tackle, safety, another outside line backer to rush the passer, another inside guy. Personally I'd rebuild the middle of that defence with a nose tackle and MLB, then get a safety. But the defence...they still need another draft after this one to fix it. The Chiefs first pick will be on an Offensive Tackle. Either Okung or Bulaga, and bet heavy on Bulaga.....I'm not crazy about it, but Pioli and Kirk Ferentz are buddies and he'll go for the Iowa player without hesitation.
