I dunno, I'm going to miss Pelletier but this just seems like an absolute home run.

Hard to complain about this deal. They got good value for Pelletier after his strong play in a short time frame after being on waivers to start the season. Hoping Frost and Farabee can find new life after being under Torts thumb.

Pelletier was a fantastic guy in the room, he's going to be sorely missed that's for sure.
Sad part of the business.
I don't see anything about any presser, but Craig loves to talk so I fully expect something to link here.

We also got a NHL center without giving up a NHL center.

Could we get a 2029 7th for him?

Why would it scare you? At worst, we gave up salary cap. Which we have a ton of.

Philly fans on HF are hating their life. I don’t really care about fan reactions though. People were dunking on Tkachuk after the Flames traded him

re: Pelletier clearing waivers earlier this season... A lot has changed since then. Pelletier did come back after being called up and has looked really improved. Obviously he wouldn't clear waivers now.
Frank said what I was thinking about Briere maybe seeing a little of himself in Pelletier possibly adding value in his mind. And Kuzmenko is a just a gamble. Low risk, but potential high reward if he turns it around. Long term, they get some cap flexibility if they let Kuzmenko go after the season, and Philly doesn't have trouble attracting free agents.
Still love the trade for the Flames though.

CP’s finest insiders were on the case to break this one.
Oh, they weren’t at all? How curious…

To be fair, he was dealt to the one team in the league he had the highest value to, because of the Michkov connection. Pelletier likely wasn’t valued as highly anywhere else in the league either, and I expect his recent spell of strong play is what activated this deal from the back-burner. Conroy found the perfect trade partner and the perfect timing.

For future reference, people have asked before if Twitter user cmpdave is legit... He tweeted something along the lines earlier hinting readers to prepare for what goes to the Flyers because centers aren't cheap.

Farabee averaged 16 5v5 goals per season the 4 years prior to this one, which generally would put him in the top 75 of the NHL.
From 21-22 to 23-24 his 47 goals ranked 61st in the NHL. The guy has finishing talent, but isn't much of a play driver yet.
He's shooting 7% at 5v5 this year though, after averaging 14.5% the prior 4 seasons. Definition of buying low.

CMPdaves clout ends when Vladar is gone. That's all I got. Other than that, yep. He was the first one on it today.
