Calgary won the trade, but saying "Pelletier was on waivers and cleared" isn't being completely accurate. He cleared on the opening night roster frenzy, and given his performance since being recalled, I very much doubt he would clear.
Kuzmenko, on the other hand, sure started feeling like a contract you could pass through waivers now.

Frost has had an xG% of 54.5 these past two years on some very subpar teams. He could be a real sleeper.

People need to chill on the Backlund hate.
Coleman-Backlund-Coronato is still our most effective line on a consistent basis and even though Backs isn't as good anymore he's still a big part of that lines success.

I like this layout. The fourth line needs improvement. This orientation for centre basically replaces the 4th line. Backlund is a good 3rd line centre but he’s an elite 4th line centre. I want to keep developing Zary as a centre. He looked to be thriving at that position before getting hurt. My hope is they eventually try these lines:
Huberdeau-Kadri-Posposil
Klapka-Zary-Coronato
Farabee-Frost-Sharangovich
Lomberg-Backlund-Coleman

There's no hate. But when the new guys get up to speed I suspect there's going to have to be some hard decision to make.
