Wow a lot of Jays news today. That really really sucks about Collabello.

So I guess Smoak takes over as full time 1B, maybe mix in EE a few of times to give Bautista a rest in the outfield.

Just a day off I guess. I can already hear Tabler saying "Just a day to reset the mind. Baseball is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. Sometimes a day off is the perfect remedy to get that stroke back."

In a statement, Colabello said he was informed of the positive test on March 13. He said he does not know why he tested positive.
"The only thing I know is that I would never compromise the integrity of the game of baseball," Colabello said in the statement. "I love this game too much! I care too deeply about it. I am saddened more for the impact this will have on my teammates, the organization and the fans of the Toronto Blue Jays."

Damn, 80 games! is that the standard for for first time PED use?

He was really struggling at the plate this year maybe this explains why. I like Smoak so I am ok with taking a more prominent role plus Montero in the minors.

Since he was caught in March, does this explain his struggles this season as he stopped with PED use or does it take a while for the positive effects to wear off and this was the looming suspension causing him to hit under .100?

Whole lot of interesting going on. I would think that in the next couple of days we see 2 of Pompey/Bourn/Lake/Burns come up and Carrera go down. I think Burns for sure, since he's a utility man, but a change of the fourth OF would really give a boost to the order. I could also see Bautista getting some reps at 1B.

Sure it can, ask Aaron Boone.

I get what you are saying but the added pop I think helps quite a bit. Fly balls carry a little farther, line drives are hit hard maybe going over fielders heads. Hitting a ball harder will always be better than hitting softly.

He tested positive in early March, this was his appeal being upheld.

Looks safe to me. Also didn't the base runner at second go past the bag, isn't that what Rasmus did earlier this season and had the play overturned?

Jays discovering new and inventive ways to advance runners, eliminate double plays, and keep teams in scoring position.
