Love your idea for the centurion/cycle beginning anew ending.
My prediction for the last remaining survivors: Hera, Helo, Athena. It would be cool if Baltar and Caprica Six are the last two alive, though, but I get the feeling they're setting up Baltar for a final act of unselfish heroism that results in his death.

You know what? Your probably right, but I hope not. I don't know if I've seen enough growth for that to happen. As much as I was yelling at my TV for Baltar to cross the line I'm glad he didn't. All that being said, I'm sure your right I just feel that due to the heavy editing of this season, we have not seen enough of Baltar's arc as was probably written.

Wow, Roslin had some attractive sisters.
And the Brunette with Baltar - crazy hot.

On the subject of Roslin's sisters. Did anyone think they both looked a lot younger then Laura? For whatever reason it didn't seem to fit. Then again it could have been because I PVR'd the episode and watched it hung over on Saturday.

I'd be pretty surprised if Baltar didn't cross the line at the start of the next show.
The promo on Scifi for the coming finale says, "As conflicts reach a climax, Cylons and humans face a stark choice."
It has a picture of Lee Adama and Starbuck facing each other.
I had guessed three people as well, only Starbuck, Hera and Liam, with Starbuck the mother figure for the next cycle.
No dice now on that so Capn Crunch's thought of Lee, Starbuck and Hera might happen.
I think it's also possible for Baltar, the messianic figure and Caprica Six to be there at the end, also with Hera.
Helo, Athena and Hera could also be possible.
Three seems to be the magic number for a fine ending.
So why is it important for Tigh to mutter that he sees Liam in Ander's eyes every time he looks at him?
There's gonna be a lot of death at the end. And it is an ending that left most of the cast in tears but also describing it as epic, poignant and wonderful.
The singularity is probably significant. What is the choice the Cylons and Humans have to make. Trapped in the singularity death zone and only able to escape with each other's help? Trapped but only through their combined energies able to send Hera and two mother/father figures out to start again?
The otherwise nonsensical vignettes of a past life will probably have significance on Friday.
Bill Adama and Roslin will die in each other's arms.
Let's get this frakin' over with!!!
PS: I think Space is replaying Season 4.5 in its entirety before the finale.

From the (very) left-leaning Huffington Post:
The most politically engaging, culturally relevant, socially entertaining and spiritually rewarding experience I had this past week was watching the two-hour finale of Battlestar Galactica, at a special press screening hosted by Sci Fi network, which announced yesterday it would soon be called Syfy. Without sharing any of the details about the two-hour conclusion to be aired this Friday, it ranks among the best - if not the best - of all series grand finales.

Have some more. There was a screening in New York for about 100 people and I assume that was the one the Huffington guy was at. RD Moore commented on putting together the final episode:
Why the red eye, Mr. Moore — why so last minute, when shooting was concluded last summer? "A lot of last-minute visual effects getting dropped in, we need that ... shot, where's that shot, no, go back and do this again, a lot of sound effects — it was just a mad scramble," he said. "I think the lion's share in the last week was done by our visual effects guys and girls who were just sitting in a dark room staring into monitors for like literally 24 hours. They just never took a day off for the last four weeks or something. ... We just beat the ... out of them. They really gave it their all."
Gosh, that sounds expensive! "Oh, yeah. We sort of raped the treasury of Universal for the last one," he said. "Universal stepped up. The network was, 'Fine, make it three hours! But somebody has to pay for it and it ain't going to be us.' And the studio, in particular Todd Sharp, our head of production, they went back, they crunched numbers, and they came up with a whole extra hour of money to do it with. That's an amazing thing for these corporations that are supposed to be heartless and not care about anything but the bottom line."

EDIT: Ho, ho, ho . . . . . Ron Moore himself interviewed regarding the series finale at this link!!

So does that mean that the finale was written and directed as it was 3 hrs long, and that SciFi split it into a one hour part one and a two hour part two?

Yep.
Battlestar at the United Nations yesterday. A summary at Entertainment Weekly.
http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009...actica-un.html
An Adama moment:
. . . . .directing his attention to the high schoolers: "Adults will never be able to stop using the word 'race' as a cultural determinant....There is only one race: the human race. SO SAY WE ALL!"
I swear to you, everyone in that chamber shouted it right back at him. Because the Admiral asked us to.
And Mary McDonnell leaned over and gently wiped a tear from Olmos' cheek.
Apparently you can see all this on the United Nations video access portal, but I don't know how to pull it up.

This one. They have been playing the dream sequence viewed by many, of Baltar,
Six and Hera for a long time now. With others chasing them, the doors close,
screaming for Hera, the doors close.

All things Galactica in the LA Times today:
The finale is satisfying says this TV critic:
Tonight, praise the gods, we have our answer. All this has happened before, and it will happen again, but it's hard to imagine a more visually and thematically satisfying finale.
And
The writers' dedication never falters, and "Battlestar Galactica's" finale is everything a fan, of the show and of television, could hope for. It's difficult to write about without giving anything away, so suffice it to say that tissues (or shots) would not be inappropriate accouterment
And
Moore and his team should win not only an Emmy but a special Medal of Honor for Not Copping Out on the Finale.
Apparently, the red dress is also explained.
If you want to know absolutely nothing about tonight's finale, then you'd probably pass on this link, although anything spoilerish is very minor.

The Tighs say goodbye
Over cigarettes and pale ale Monday night at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Hogan said the pair was –- to use the show’s favorite curse word –- pretty "frakked up" about it. "I don't know if I'll ever be able to growl 'gods damnit' ever again," he said.
Vernon sipped Chardonnay and recalled how surreal it was playing Ellen, who was "ripped" during her entire first episode. "It was drunkalogue after drunkalogue after drunkalogue," she said.

EDIT: A zowy ending says the New York Post today:
. . . . here's what I can tell you: the finale explains many of the unexplainables, ties up loose ends and will thrill you with a helluva shocker of an ending.
If you're not a die-hard fan, you may have trouble following the complicated storyline, but you will be left breathless nonetheless. The special effects, the acting, the sets, the action, the questions asked and answered will prove to be among Sci Fi's greatest moments.

I'm cautiously optimistic.
I've stuck with this show through the wretchedness that was seasons 3 and 4 in the hopes that they'd recapture the magic of the first two seasons, and those reviews make it sound as though they finally have. It's a shame that there hasn't been a single episode yet that has been better than the very first one, 33. Will they finally break that streak with tonight's finale?

The following episodes would like to have a word with you:
-Occupation
-Precipice
-Exodus pt. 1
-Exodus pt. 2
-Crossroads pt. 1
-Crossroads pt. 2
However I do agree that apart from these episodes we did get a lot of wandering with not the same level of episodes that season 1 & 2 brought us.
Then again a bad episode of Battlestar was better than 95% of the stuff on tv anyways!
I'm pouring one out tonight for this show, I know there is the game on and what site I am posting this on but Battlestar is coming first.

Why do I figure that there's going to be a three way fight to the death here.
On one side The human's and the cylon defectors.
On the second side Cavil
On the third side the old school cylons that we saw in the Pegasus movie who were still trying to build skin jobs. And is not likley that they're on anyones side.

I'm not disputing that there have been other good episodes -- all of the examples you listed certainly qualify (I'd put Ressurection Ship Parts I and II on that list as well). For my money, though, the very best episode they ever made (barring the finale which I have not yet seen) was 33. It set the high water mark for the series, and it's unfortunate that they've never been able to reach that level again.
