That hockey news photo is ridiculous. He looks 15 years older.

Were they trying to make him look Hobbit-ish?

Glad they gave him an adult replica jersey and not a youth one. By the size of the crest I'm guessing it's a small

You've corrected pointed out that Johnny Gaudreau is on the small side.

Congratulations.

Something tells me that poster may be the subject of some locker room jabs going Johnny's way.

Stool? check.
Arms barely making it out of the sleeves? Check.
Game face attempt? Check.

Poirier? Skilled and fast enough to keep up and will crush anyone with a hint of a cheapshot.

I see a future line of

Gaudreau-Bennett-Poirier

as close to unstoppable as my rose colored glasses can imagine.

Pretty impressive and we're lucky to have him.
I think his inconsistency has to do with the line juggling and the teams overall inconsistency. Some of it is that he is a rookie. But imo if he was on chicago or pitts he would be as consistent as any other superstar. He sees the game so well and I know he is a rookie but he doesnt seem like one at all asides from his small frame which will be with him much longer than just this season.

If Gaudreau-Bennett-Poirier happens next year it has the potential to be one of the most entertaining lines in hockey. Gaudreaus highlight reel moves combined with Bennett's relentless grit and hands and Poirier sniping ability, not to mention the overall ridiculous speed of all three players. Lordy Lord. All the defense pairings they are going to embarrass..

Maybe in the future, but I don't expect a 2/3 rookie 1/3 sophomore line to light it up. I highly doubt Hartley puts them together next year

Yeah, next year might be wishful thinking (at least the start of the year), but I too think would be an incredible line. Can't wait to see it.

They don't need to put up 70 points each to be highly entertaining, which is what I'm getting at. I think Bennett will have flashes of brilliance just as Gaudreau has had, and Johnny will take another step in his second season. And I think Poirier will be at least as good as Granlund this season, and will be able to show off his foot speed regardless of experience.

And I said If it happens, which I think Gaudreau and Bennett you can at least book to happen before the end of next season.

Unless they earn it, which I hope they do.

It would be nice to see the organization need to continue to make tuff decisions.

The way Hartley juggles lines I could, for a time.

It's funny how they, with Brodie and Ortio, are probably the biggest part of the Flames' future but they've never played a shift together.
