I watched an amazing hidden gem of a sci Fi film The 13th Floor which came out the same year as the Matrix and it deals with virtual reality and asking questions about what is reality.
The film is set in 1999 and this company has created a virtual reality simulation where users can go back to 1930s LA. In this VR, all the other people have thoughts and dreams and believe they are alive. When the head of the company is killed, his associate has to plug in and find clues to his murder in the VR.
I don't want to spoil too much, but this film was really well done, a great mix of noir and sci Fi and had it come out in 1998 we would probably all know about it.
"It's a lot like The Matrix, but without all the special effects."

00s: Bad Santa. HM to Borat and Super Troopers though. (Superbad is terrible)
10s: my highest rated “comedy” is deadpool. Weak decade.

I just rewatched it because a bunch of my friends hadn't seen it and we do a Friday movie night. They all loved it, and one of my friends went as far as to add it to his top 10 comedy movies list.
Blues Brothers
Strange Brew
Slapshot
Monty Pythons Holy Grail
Airplane
Caddyshack
Fletch
Tommy Boy
Dumb and Dumber
Groundhog Day
This is impossible. Can't be done. I didn't even make it to the 2000s. I think you could easily make a top ten from the last 24 years.
Someone should set up a comedy draft. 10 rounds. Snake style.

Kinda surprised to not see any Mike Myers flicks on lists. Not even mine, So I Married an Axe Murderer? Austin Powers? Wayne's World? Shrek? Dude had some real bangers.

We've only had 3 years of movies, and I enjoyed Bullet Train, but The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is a better comedy.
The Revenant is quite the movie. It's brutal and bleak, gorgeous and intense. It feels long at times, though, and was better experienced at a theatre.
That early scene at the camp when arrows come raining down is freakin terrifying, and effectively sets the tone for the whole movie. I'd forgotten Domhnall Gleeson was in it; he was in everything in 2014ish.
Also loved the Revenant, especially seeing how our landscape looks on a big screen filmed by the best directors of photography in the business. Same reason I liked Prey and the last Ghostbusters.

So hard to pick comedies. A lot of great ones have already been mentioned. That said, here are few that have been overlooked:
A Fish called Wanda
The Producers
Dirty, Rotten Scoundrels
Murder by Death
Dead Men don't wear plaid
Scary Movie 2
Undercover Brother
I'm Gonna Git you, Sucka
HM: Beerfest and Me, Myself, and Irene
edit: I see The Producers was already mentioned. Swap in Team America, World Police

Certainly the way I’m feeling about the glaring lack of John Candy films on these lists
Caddyshack
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Get Him to the Greek
Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Superbad
The Hangover
Undercover Brother
Hot Fuzz
40 Year Old Virgin
The Change Up
