I'm getting overwhelmed with the sheer volume of Behind the Scenes material for this show. I understand that there's a big audience for it, but it's really starting to break my immersion. yeah I know that mushroom monsters aren't real and Boston doesn't have the Rockies an hour drive away, but I'm at the point where I want to just enjoy an episode without constantly thinking about what Calgary building that is in the background, or what kind of stunt performer in a rubber suit or zombie makeup they hired to run at the cast.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
Every odd numbered episode man...just gotta twist the knife.
I thought that was absolutely fantastic writing in that scene when Henry actually started shooting at Joel with brotherly protection instincts and then suddenly did the "right" thing. So powerful. Plus Bella's "I'm sorry" as her last note to him when they did the burials.

I'm not quite sure I understand your complaint. Personally I love the behind the scenes Calgary content, I usually look at that stuff midweek while I'm bored at work.
But ultimately it's just things you have to actively click on or watch, no?
I didn’t think she was great in the episode before, but it’s impossible to deny that Bella crushed this episode. It was definitely a “shut up” episode to any doubters left, which included myself.

The facial acting (and her whimper) for her reaction when Henry suddenly takes his own life . . .
The casting and the actors in the series just killing it.
I think there's some subtlety to Bella's acting that is being missed. I feel like some are looking for adult immersion and emotions in a broken down society.
This isn't that. She's 14 and hasn't matured emotionally yet AND doesn't understand most of the previous society (Pedro having to explain what a seat belt is being a good example) I think she's done a fantastic job of emulating a child brought into a cold, broken world. The facial expressions that aren't full of "OMMGGGG this is such an emotional moment based on my 35 years of growing!!!!!" fits a 14 year old kid learning how to operate in this world, while not having fully developed empathy yet.

Do you remember being a kid or have kids? Kids will cry at kid/teen problems like wanting things or being deprived of things they want to do. They often don't cry or break down over serious things like death of people around them or other tragedies, because they're not developed enough to do so, yet.
It comes with age and her reaction to shooting someone fit that well, imo. She was stunned and knew she did something, and the tears came out very naturally from a stunned, confused face. If she acted the way some here would have preferred I think it would have come off inauthentic and more adult like.

I like reading this thread for the opinions and analysis of the show. I don't want to read about the game, but usually whenever I see "in the game..." I can easily skip over that. the Behind the Scenes content is different. sometimes it's a generic Pedro Pascal video thumbnail that's simple enough to ignore, but frequently it's a still shot or thumbnail that shows the comparison of the show vs real life location outright. that's harder to just skip over, but I'm not going to ask people to start spoilering that stuff because it's not spoilers.
my brain just works differently than yours, no need for the googly eyes emoji. when I see the big mushroom monster from this point forward, I'm not going to be able to get the image out of my head that it's just 6'6" Adam Basil in a rubber suit, surrounded by stunt coordinators on a very unscary TV show set.
this is my one old man yelling at the clouds thing, in my opinion it got out of hand on the Walking Dead where you'd watch a popular character get their intestines torn out, then a couple minutes later you see them joking and laughing on a couch with Chris Hardwick. but even that was easier to avoid cause you just switch off after credits. I'm trying to imagine how my memory of GoT season 1 would be different if a few hours after the final episodes I saw pictures of Sean Bean making a funny face and pointing at his decapitated wax head on a spike.
This Bella analysis/grading by the actors council of CP is unreal
You just said it yourselves ... she's 14. adjust expectations accordingly
She's 19. But seriously she is an amazing actress starting with Game of Thrones.
I think she is doing a better job than Pedro Pascal but I haven't watched much of his shows. I guess the only thing I've watched with him was Game of Thrones. lol

To be fair, if they're basing their characters off a 2013 video game, they would've found the characters to be (literally) pretty stone-faced
They've both been fine. It's a dark time where everybody is hardened and facing survival and/or oppression at all times. Pedro's character in particular should be portrayed exactly as it has been
The contrast between this and Oberyn Martell alone speaks to his range as an actor

My only complaint with Pedro is they way he pronounces Ellie. Sounds weird.
