The reason we have the "other thread" is to keep the Android vs iPhone stuff out of these threads. We're all aware that phones break when you drop them, or if you stuff them in a super-powered blender etc.
Short version:
Posting that in the "other thread" = Good
Re-posting it in this thread to maximize potential for drama = Bad
For me, the durabilty of the iPhone 5 is an important consideration, and I think it is totally suitable in this thread.

SD cards are also insanely cheap these days. I just purhcased a 32 gig micro SD card for $20. You can buy multiple SD cards and have unlmited storage.
Or you could take that $20 and subscribe to iTunes match, and have all of your music on the go, and backed up in the cloud to boot.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose, but I'm done with removable media or loading thousands of songs into devices and then not having the one album that strikes my fancy, etc.
Between LTE, Rdio, and iTunes Match, I have, essentially, every single song I could ever possibly want.

This is a media player built into a phone, not a freaking Nintendo.
I can't even imagine how important something would need to be for me to carry a second SD card around with me all the time, just so I could access it in case my 32 gig card in the phone didn't have it.

This is a really nice phone, finally picked mine up at 3. I'm shocked how much lighter it feels. Restoring from iCloud it left all my apps in the old 4 row format.

The cloud is a good option if you have an ulimited data plan. Right now the Canadian infrastructure is not set up to support proper use of the cloud. We get robbed by the telecommunications companies.
Constant use of the cloud also drains the battery of a phone very quickly, especially when combined with media use.
Apple Store I went to (very new) had maybe 3 people in line. Waiting took about 10-15 minutes, going through Rogers' upgrade and all that... about 45 minutes. Surprisingly enough, they had no cases... but Future Shop did.
Glad I went to the mall today. I was only planning on messing around with a demo phone. Ha. It's still syncing and all that so I have no real review other than 'holy crap it's LIGHT' so far.
Might want to look into getting a clear shield perhaps? I like the ZAGG ones but I've really grown to like the Hori type ones they do for the various gaming systems. Anyhow:
Just stopped working I guess. Now when I boot it the "bong" sound just loops over and over, and the screen displays a nice corrupt screen, doesn't seem like it's booting at all.
Tried shifting memory around, with/without battery, the various reset things I've read about, no dice. Could be the video card.
I'll probably mess around with it and take it apart to see if I can fix it, but it's 5 years old so it's probably not worth fixing, any part is going to be half the price of what I'd replace it with (probably a MBA or Ultrabook). If I didn't need a laptop every so often for working on the road, I'd probably just get a desktop since tablets meet our mobile computing around the house needs.

Anybody else on Bell? I'm still showing 3G for signal- not LTE. The guy at the Bell store said might take a little while- of course to get me out of the store. Still haven't sync'd with iTunes yet- maybe I have to do that?

You might not be in an LTE area. Mine started right away on LTE but I'm on telus and its not everywhere down here in the south.

Fortunately, the iPhone 5's claim to be "twice as fast" is justified.
While we still haven't done an accurate battery rundown, after 8 hours of very, very heavy usage, our straight out of the box battery is still sitting pretty at 47%.

Don't believe anyone who says the battery life is awesome on any device. After the first month or two of charging, all devices seem to go back to "average" battery life, iPhone or otherwise.

Meh, you can do the same with Google Music. I have it on my tablet (for free) and even though it isn't technically supported in Canada, you just have to use a VPN the first time to set it up.
