I'm pretty sure the layman figures "If I'm smart enough to evenly distribute cheese on my sandwich at home, why are these idiots too stupid to figure it out?".

I cant believe so many people love subway. Quiznos or bad ass jacks are way better. when there are other food court options i never choose subway, the only thing that saves them for me is their cookies.

There's no Quiznos or Mr. Sub or anything else out in Chestermere.

Ever since Subway attempted to charge to additional tomatoes, I've refused to eat there. Since they also suck, it's been an easy shift. I still have fond memories of Mr. Sub's pizza sub and any amazing sub assembled by California Subs in Regina.

I don't know about that, it would depend on what you're ordering. Regular McDonalds burger and a small fries is likely comparable in calorie and fat intake to a 6 inch steak and cheese with oil and ranch dressing. But if I order a 6 inch turkey on whole wheat with no cheese and only have mustard and veggies on it, than Subway is a healthier choice. But who actually orders a regular burger and a small fries who's over the age of 12? I'm guessing not too many of their customers.
Pretty much any restaurant is serving high calorie meals, and if you watch what you order you can get a healthier lower calorie meal anywhere. It's up to the consumer to know what he/she is eating and what the calorie totals are. I'm trying to watch my weight to a certain extent and attempting to keep my heart from exploding when I turn 60 like pretty much every other male with my surname. So if I have to eat out, it's usually at Subway and the lower calorie options. Although it's hard to eat out and not have the sodium levels go off the charts.

Subway = Traditional favorites with some innovation.
Quizos = Over engineered McDonald's-like subs. Unless prepared to perfection they suck. Badly.
Its fairly difficult to destroy a Subway sub to the point where you ask them to make it over regardless of how little English they speak.

Actually, the technical term for the V-cut was the "U Gouge"*

In the US I can get a footlong Oven Roasted Chicken Breast for $5 (no tax if I buy it in MT). In Canada, I pay $8-9 for the same sandwich... US > Canada
Oh, and I still remember getting a footlong BLT in Washington state (just south of the Peach Arch border crossing) -- it was a gas station/mini mart with a Subway inside. The person working there was actually a gas station employee filling in -- she must have given me 10x the amount of bacon I was supposed to get (no counting the pieces, just two or three big handfuls). Needless to say, it was the best BLT I've ever had

I ask them to go light on the lettuce as well. It, along with asking A&W not to put mayo on their burgers (they put a disgusting amount on) are the two modifications I ask for at fast food joints.
I miss that Subway used to have Caesar dressing to put on subs ... Italian BMT with Caesar dressing and sub sauce was great. Now, they go "well, we have Ranch dressing". Yeah, put that on - because the two are close enough. Geez.

The cheese/veggie subs at Quizno's are just too soggy or something. For me Subway is better. It's kinda hard to screw up cheese and vegetables but some places manage to do it. Blimpie's subs are way better.

If you know where the +15 between The Western Canadian Place towers and the Fina Building is, it's a little place tucked in the corner east of the +15. They have oven roasted meats and a bunch of different breads. Run by a really nice Asian family. At first glance you might think it's a Vietnamese noodle place but walk in further and find the subs. Best part is they wrap the subs in butcher paper so it looks like you're carrying a cut of meat back to the office.
EDIT: Oh, and I also don't frequent subway because 1) the closest one to the office is in the Crack Macs on 7th ave and 2) I like honey mustard and whenever I'd ask for it the guy would always say "oooh, you like da honey ehh?" in a somewhat creepy East Indian accent.
