I always ask them to take it easy on the lettuce. They comply.

Why will it take them until July 1 to put this into practice? How difficult have we made things as a society when it takes month to change how you place cheese on a sandwich?

I hated the v cut. The cut only went halfway into the bread.... thus one side of your sub was just bread.

I've always had problems with Subway not putting enough lettuce. I always had to ask like 3 times for them to put more at the MRU location.

If I go into subway and ask them to tessellate my cheese... will they look at me funny?

I don't know how Subway operates, but I know a lot of chain restaurants even though they have the same name and are still operated by the same company, their Canadian and U.S. divisions are largely different (One recent example of this is U.S. KFC getting the doubledown and not the Canadian branches). Since all we have to go on as of now is a photo, this change may only apply (at this time) to the U.S. branches of Subway.

the real question is how does this change your submarine sandwich power ranking list. my list is unchanged:
1. Mr. Sub
2. Quiznos
3. Donair Shop
4. Subway

I should note though I do go to subway the most do it's proximity to the shop.

I like Subway more lately since they've got the flatbread.

Someone tell me the flatbread is more healthy.

It isn't is it?

The Flatbread has more Fat in it than all the the 6inch breads... and about the same number of calories....

Wow... also of note is the "fat-free" honey mustard has 6x the calories of normal mustard.

Agreed - always fresh hot bread and super tasty subs.

Not to mention the owners and staff are always polite.

Most Subways in the US have Jalapeņo cheese bread too. We get the shaft.

I bet it has to do with their fiscal year starting July 1 so they can monitor how the change in cheese layering affects their bottom line.

Sadly both the flatbread and even the wrap options are pretty much just as bad for you. Compared to other fast food places subway is often times worse than a burger and fries. Definitely not the place to get a healthy meal despite what Jared tells us.

Perhaps tessellation gives the illusion of more cheese due to more coverage. The layman would assume that the higher the bread:cheese coverage ratio, would lead to a higher bread:cheese quantity ratio.

"The Layman" could be the new term to describe expert cheese tessellaters.
