I take my household garbage to the MD Of Foothills landfill every week and pay $5.

I'd have to fill the Durango up to the ceiling to run it up to $7.

Basically, it's a little bit of gas for the trip and $5 every week.

No excuse for the guilty.

Why is there a difference? A crime is a crime, no?

Young people do it they are jackasses, old people do it they are just cute and silly.

I hope you aren't in any type of law enforcement.

I really don't know what you are arguing. All I said was I feel sympathy for them because they are elderly and being publicly humiliated. I have no problem that they received a fine, but if it makes me a bad person that I feel sympathy for two 60 year olds being emberassed then I guess I'm a horrible person.

Sure they broke a law but they are being publically hanged.

He did get their plate. That is why they are getting a visit from the bylaw officer today.

Throw the max at them. I don't care about their age, race, sex, etc...

Can't wait until the iPhone app is ready to go that allows citizens to rat on bags that park in disabled spots without a permit.. I'm all over it.

He must have taken their plate Number because Platt said they'll be getting a visit from 2 uniformed officers today.

I'd say recording it on video and handing it over to the authorities is a little more productive.

I think it said in the article that he recorded their plate in his video.

Edit: 3 people above me copied me.

Meh. It wasn't intentional. Gramps followed the rules.

He didn't lay some fat cables in the park, so what's the problem?

Isn't that what the sign meant?

A failure to plan on your part doesn't justify the illegal dumping you did. Using that logic, I could say that it was okay for me to drive 180kmh on Deerfoot because I overslept and was late for work. Not trying to pile on, just saying.

How on earth would you be able to know that having your face plastered on the news would be the consequences? I'm sure if they knew that they would have just gone straight to the dump.

So next time you are driving, remind me to take a video of you throwing your cigarette butts out of the window so I can send a copy to Global News.

Make sure you stop in the middle of the road and pick up that evidence! JBR is always on Deerfoot. Maybe it wasn't a cigarette butt that JBR had. Maybe he picked his nose and through it out the window? We'z need more evidence!

There was a sign saying it was illegal to dump there. One of the side effects of being caught doing something illegal is the possibility that your offence could become public knowledge.

Clearly another instance of the Elderly feeling that they are entitled to do whatever they please simply due to the fact that they've lasted as long as they have.

I'm not arguing anything if you actually read your own post and mine. I'm asking what the difference is. Why is it okay for teenagers to be publicly humilated but not others?

Again....what's the difference?

Clearly the guy in the motorhome should have put up "Area under temporary surveillance" signs. Then I'm 100% sure the old fogies would have thought twice.

Haha I love how people in this thread are treating this couple like they are totally helpless. Many people at age 60 are still working.

This couple is still young enough to know what they are doing is wrong. Unless they suffer from some kind of early onset dimentia or alzheimer's they deserve what they get.
