Public humiliation is the best punishment.

I'm not saying dumping garbage in a park is a good idea, and that the people who do it aren't idiots.

...but the hyperbole comparing them to child molesters... come on guy.

I played hockey at the Trico Centre Saturday night and the spot I parked in was littered with McDonalds packages, smoke packages and plastic bottles (obviously someone felt the need to clean out their car right there). Seeing this the infuriated me because there was a garbage not even 20 feet away. I actually asked my self if you could catch someone in the act and get photos or video if they would be charged? I'm happy to see this is possible.

Living and working downtown I experience people dumping their garbage all the time. I actually don't care if someone uses my dumpster, I just wish they would actually put it in the dumpster, not beside it. I guess they are too lazy to bring it to the dump in the first place, expecting them to simply place their crap in a dumpster would probably be too much to ask.

Really? I'm pretty sure there is, but you could be right. Whenever I leave more than about 4 bags the garbage man will just leave the extra in my bin.

I remember hearing they were going to implement a limit, but maybe they haven't done it yet.

But by exaggerating that much, you're actually undermining your point.

Nope, not yet. If they're leaving bags, they might be too heavy - 45 KGs is the limit per bag. Otherwise, I'd phone 311 and complain.

This will only happen more as the city moves to limit the amount they pick up (further.)

Glad to hear that the alien invasion is NOT a go just yet. Perhaps when they arrive, we can sacrifice the litterbugs to our new alien overlords.

Sorry about that.

I just get so GD tired of all those damn deer around here eating my trees and bushes and shatting all over my yard.... I occasionally lose it and pull out the ol' Remington and start blasting away.... then I got to hide the evidence before the fish & game cops catch me.

I completely agree with you. Although, I still think they should be fined.

BTW: When it comes to Michael Platt, there's no such thing as crossing the line or "overkill".

Minimum dump fee is $10.... that load would not be more than the minimum charge.

Then put out half the bags one week and the other half the next week. Sometimes I have put out 10 bags and the city has taken them. There is no excuse for just dumping the garbage in a park.

There is no limit.

When I first moved into my house, There was a lot of refuse to get rid of. I put 11 bags out and they took them all.

By next summer, everbody will have a black garbage bin, just like the blue bins (recycling) we have now. Once all the black bins have been distributed, you will be limited to what the bin will hold. I f you have an excess, Extra bags will cost you around $2.80 each.

As they leave, the truck passes a bright-yellow ‘No Dumping’ sign.

You have to think they dumped there before.

They should have to pick up garbage in highway ditches all summer.

I wonder how much of their "garbage" was recyclable.
