I've heard different answers to this.
He did like to brush the plate a lot.

You would have to have one hell of an arc for it to hit the plate and still qualify as a strike - and the arc required would probably make it an illegal pitch anyway.

There are lots of leagues who's rules indicate that a ball that strikes the back triangle of the plate is a strike.
This league also indicates a pitch arc of 6' to 12'. More often the maximum arc would be 14'. To answer trout's question it is very difficult to bring in such a pitch and not exceed 12'.
However if the umps were sticklers about the 12' we would be there all night with constant walks.
It's a hitting league hence the 12' rule.
You are right trout, why leave it up to the ump anyway? If you've got 2 strikes you should be prepared to swing at pretty much anything. Just in case.
That ump missed two HR calls also, so clearly his vision or his judgement are weak. Hopefully it's his vision considering his profession.

Here is a quick picture, you can see the lace marks from the ball!
Yes, it is still swollen and it still hurts!

Was that Ks?
Plural?
Unless there is a lady behind you and she gets an automatic walk if the male walks on 4 straight balls (or the pitcher isn't within 3' of the plate) you should be swinging away.

One was a 3rd strike foul ball out, not really a K.
This league, no matter what the pitch count, if a guy gets a walk with a lady behind him, he gets second base. The lady then has the option to bat or take first. Harsh.
So a walk is good, if you have a lady behind you. But yeah, swing away especially if you have 2 strikes.

At least I didn't drop any fly balls, or I would be on the bus to Central.

okay figure it out: YTD Stats
Legend:
PA = Plate Appearances
FC = Fielders Choice
Sac = Sacrifice
OB % = On Base percentage

Reason: OB% calculated wrong, hits didnt add up. missed and RBI

Some of your totals dont match up, FKA.
ie Banffgirls, Mr Banffgirl, and Aeneas.
Hits does not equal 1b +2b+3b+HR
FC are AB's, but SAC's should not be.
You are also missing an RBI...

Ah yup. FKA had you slated to go in RF and 4x4 in LF.
4x4 went passed me at SS and said what's trout doing out there?, then he just went over to RF.
Hey you can catch and throw, you dont need to know where you are.

Yea, I felt kinda bad that you were doing all my work for me, but you were doing such a good job out there, I didn't want to switch!

Did FKA count the FCs as Hits?
edit - ob% looks wonky as well.

"Good job"
Two throwing errors
My hardest throw of the night unfortunately struck someones face.
1 HR but 2 other plate appearances with the bases loaded.
Finally my sparkling 63.0 ERA in 2 innings work!!!!
Actually, alot of those runs were not earned...
