Yes, I prefer the Burt Reynolds myself, but have you ever tried to explain to a girl on the first date why your carrying a bear pelt?

For the record, I do have a copy (digital as it may be) of your latest record on my ipod and I do occasionally listen to it.
I just felt it was necessary to point out the irony inherant to the fact that someone who can make some pretty decent music, actully likes Tool.

Go Ghostbustin' with her at your local cemetary.
Don't forget to bring a ghetto blaster and play the ghostbusters theme song while strolling through the cemetary. Also, pretending to be frightened helps a lot.

It works better if you use Thriller instead of Ghostbusters. And offer her some jesus juice.

That's a great idea. These date ideas of ours are gold. I can't imagine anyone refusing to use them.

In fact they suck so bad that I don't feel even the slightest bit of remorse for typing this post that will undoubtedly lead to a thread derailment of epic proportions.
Therefore, in conclusion, Tool sucks harder than any band has ever sucked before. That's right, even more than Billy Talent.

Hey man, to each their own. I think they're a supremely talented band with talented members, exciting lyrics and addictive melodies.
As a musician myself, I'm not sure where the hate comes from; there's so much worse crap out there - Nickelback, Billy Talent (I agree) to name a couple...
... BBS, why do you hate them, exactly? Just curious. I know you provided the link, but I want to hear your reasoning.

There's some pretty good suggestions in here. I definitely recommend Loose Moose Theater and Art Central, which some people have already mentioned.
Last weekend I had to go to the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra for one of my classes, but it ended up being really cool! Last weekend was Philip Glass. I just checked and tonight is The Music of Led Zeppelin. And if you sign up for a membership on their site (its free) and if you're between 15-29, you can get really good seats for like 12 bucks.
Also, pick up a copy of FFWD. They always have lots of events listed, and a real wide range. Music, art openings, plays, festivals, etc.
If all else fails, skating is always good! Especially outdoors, like at Olympic Plaza or on a lake.

One time at 4AM, I turned on the TV to channel 36 I think, it's that used to be WB channel that broadcasts from New York City.
For some unfathomable reason, they had sent two reporters in the middle of the morning to C.O.P. to go ziplining in the freezing cold darkness of morning. It baffled me to see Calgary on a NY TV station in the middle of the morning. These reporters were all hyping out how exciting it would be...and it was over in like 10 seconds and they were like: "uhh, is that it?"

Inform an ignorant Floridian ...what is ziplining? Thanks. It at least sounds like somewhat dangerous fun.

It`s the no-surprise kind, when you`re in a rush to get home from the date.
Actually, ziplining involves you getting harnassed into a sling and rapidly ride a long wire down a hill suspended several feet in the air. (If the zillions of Facebook photos of other people doing this that I have seen have informed me correctly.)

Invite her over for dinner. When she gets there tell her she has to prepare it. Then while the meal is cooking bring out your laundry and tell her to get to work. Sit on the couch, put on a DVD or sporting event, turn it up and ask for a beer and some munchies. You'll really get to know her that way. Also a good test if she is wife material or not. If a woman cannot multitask at least 3 different things she is of no use to you.
