you know that does bring up something i was thinking about yesterday...

if this company has so many experienced staff, why under the 'cool things we do' area are there 2 links that go to a coming soon page, and a site that doesn't work?

So he ripped you off too?

The Facebook group is not up anymore. The creator must have deleted it as he is under the microscope.

funny thing is that if you google a lot of the various text on their website and blog, you find that it is from other sites. for example: their blog titled 'Calgary Web Page Design and SEO Facts' appears to be almost entirely taken from http://www.silverwebseo.com/ which is an seo company in columbus. the quotes at the bottom of the same article appear to come from http://archive.webpronews.com/2002/0106.html

theres just a lot of weirdness with this thing...

edit: the first blog post seems to come from http://www.evancarmichael.com/SEO/14...rtunities.html

i dont think evan carmichael likes getting his stuff taken...

Maybe that's a copyright infringement?

Sucks to be ripped off but the age old adage holds in this context:

Buyer Beware.

No one forced anyone to pay 6 grand for a website.

This could get entertaining, although I have to say that (J)ust(I)n(T)ime is coming off more like someone who had their girlfriend stolen by the Solaris dude than someone who was asked to help out someone's stepdad.

It's like "battle of the 28 year old virgins that still live in Mom's basement".

Challenge each other to World of Warcraft death match or whatever.... which one of you is Leroy, and which one it the whiny other guy?

Definitly, don't think anyone would disagree. But if you do rip someone off be prepared for the repercussions.

Is that what you would honestly say to your Dad if he went and spent the $6000 on a POS website and didn't tell you until after the deal was done?

If it was my Dad I'd hunt the b****rd down and get about $5000 of it back.

Yes, I know that is hyperbole. But I would be that upset if it was my Dad, and you would be too if it was yours.

Also, if Solaris claims to have a team of people but is in fact one person, I would sue for all the money back. Its false advertising. He paid for X and didn't even come close to getting it.

And that is the key. If everything in that list was not completed to what would be considered proper by industry standard then he deserves a portion of his money back.

If he has already paid it, I doubt he will see a cent of it, but if he hasn't then he can demand the bill be properly amended to reflect the work done. If the company refuses then you could easily force them to prove they did what they said they were going to.
