^^Zing! Except a strike from the outfield is a good throw. You still get partial credit. Maybe he didn't eat his Frosted HGH Flakes this morning?
And Chacon's Boss was in the wrong if I remember correctly, it's just that his boss has the power to greatly schew the sympathy vote in his favour, so Chacon is made to be the bad guy. However, that is only a portion of the truth and the story in its entirety ,so as always be skeptical.
PS, with the power outtage in the MLB this year, how will they sell the homerun derby?

Chacon choked him, pushed him to the ground and in his own words wanted to beat his @ss. I think that it is clear that no matter what Wade said, Chacon was in the wrong.
I haven't had a wide range of bosses but if they ask you to go into their office or really do anything that it is reasonable isn't it pretty normal that the employee does so?

I'm just saying, I don't know the entire story as many don't. Sure he chokes a guy, but did he have it coming to him?
One's a scrawny pencil pusher, the other is a brawny hot-head hanging curveball pusher, there's gotta be something that started it, we are only seeing the fallout.

So the Milwaukee Brewers who currently trail both Chicago and St.Louis in their Division make the move to get CC Sabathia. This could be a move that really bites the Brewers later if they can't make it into the post season. But it's a real gamble....still I have flashbacks to the Montreal Expos and the deal to get Mark Langston.
*edit...I guess the Brew crew is more or less even with the Cardinals. Sabathia had a terrible start to the season but had been pitching much better lately. When the Jays played the Indians back in May I think Sabathia's ERA was up over 6. Now he's comfortbaly under 4 and his 6-8 record is pretty deceiving due to the run support he gets. No doubt that if the Brewers can get to the playoffs with Sheets and Sabathia that they could be tough in a best of 5 series.

The A's have sent Harden and Gaudin to the Cubs for 4 players. I knew Harden would be moved but I didn't expect it to be this early. I guess the Cubbies wanted to counter the Brewers move for CC yesterday.

Yeah up front it doesn't look like a great deal for the A's. Gaudin had been moved to the bullpen because the kids have pitched better than him so far. I will wait before I fully judge the deal because Billy Beane knows what he is doing.

I actually think Gallagher is a pretty good prospect. He's been starting well for the Cubs all season and had a lot of confidence from Pinella who adjusted the rotation so he would get a couple crucial starts against the Sox and Dodgers (IIRC).
Patterson is a decent prospect - not blue chip, but he might have upside. There's just no room in the Cubs outfield (Johnson, Edmonds, Fukudome and Soriano).
I dont know much about Murton or the catcher, but I did hear Murton's name in the rumor mill around here being a necessary component of any pitcher acquisition.
I feel bad for the A's. They remind me a lot of the Expos in the 90s... a farm system for the rest of the league.

Yeah, I was looking at those prospects and none of them really stood out. I guess the knock on Harden is durability as he aways seems to find his way onto the DL. But when he is healthy, the numbers suggest that he's dynamite. Still unlike Sabathia who has a very proven track record for durability...there is an added risk factor.

See, that's the thing that catches me about this deal though. At this time of the year, teams like the Yanks unload prospects for starters who have amazing stuff. Even though the guy's been an injury hazard for the past couple years (Harden), his movement is amazing and I'd have thought at this time of the year if they held onto him a bit longer one of the big guns would have ponied up a Joba or Hughes to get that potential Ace for the playoffs.

6 DL stints in 6 seasons. This has to be the reason that the price was low. Although, with Beane's track record, he might see something in Murton that no one else does.
Anyways, Chicago is thrilled. If Harden can stay healthy, it really helps a pitching staff that, for the most part, has been pitching over their heads for most of the season.

Ugh pretty dissapointed right now. Knew Harden would eventually be traded, but it still sucks. Can't say I really like the return. Gallagher seems alright, but the others I'm not that impressed with. Atleast he didn't get traded to the Yanks or Bosox.

Mariners release Richie Sexson. He has power, but these days he does one of three things....strikeout, hit into a double play or knock it out of the park for a solo home run. Some one who's in the race might look to add him as a bat for depth now.

Wow the Blue Jays and Richie have two things in common. Can you guess which ones?

Maybe the Rays are starting to fall back to earth. They dropped their 6th straight game today.

Better now than September. I think the all-star break will help them regroup. All good teams go through a bad week and they have to learn to play through it.

Why is it that all it takes is a hot woman in the broadcast booth to make professional 'talkers' have absolutely no idea what they're saying anymore? :P
