I've always liked the theme song from the Bourne trilogy... I think the main one is by Moby... called Extreme Ways, I think?

Also the other instrumental from the Bourne series... I think that one's by John Powell.

Wow. When I saw this thread title I automatically thought of this song... but thought I was going to be the only one. Much better than Henley and equal or better to Cohen.

Since my #1 choice was taken, I'll go with the Boss:

BTW - "Pump up the Volume" is the ONLY Soundtrack that I own. And I love each and every song on it, from the Pixies "Wave of Mutilation", Soundgarden's "Heretic" to "Me and the Devil Blues" by Cowboy Junkies. The whole album is pure gold. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 10/10 would be because they didn't put "Dad I'm in Jail" by Was (not Was) on the soundtrack. I corrected that error last week by purchasing "What Up Dog" and adding it to the Soundtrack. At least on my iPod.

Born Slippy by Underworld in Trainspotting was pretty memorable.

The David Bowie tracks in The Life Aquatic were a perfect fit, and the Seu Jorge covers of those songs are also fantastic.

Now that I think of it, all the Wes Anderson movies have kickass soundtracks- Needle In The Hay or These Days from The Royal Tenenbaums are a couple that come to mind right away.

Let Go by Frou Frou from Garden State.

I really enjoyed the Juno soundtrack also. Anyone Else But You is probably the big winner from that one.

Gotta throw some hip hop in here too...hmmmmm...

Keep Their Heads Ringin' by Dr. Dre from Friday is gonna be hard to top.

Maybe Streiht Up Menace by MC Eiht from Menace II Society.

Reason For Rhyme by Eight Ball & MJG from the soundtrack of the same name is another banger. More relevant than ever.

Personally I like the Singles soundtrack. My favorites:

Paul Westerberg: Dyslexic Heart
Pearl Jam: State of Love and Trust
Mother Love Bone: Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns
Soundgarden -Birth Ritual would be my favorite from that one, after MLB of course.

Great soundtrack. One of two soundtracks I own on CD.

Edit: Good call by Jiri on the "Last of the Mohicans" soundtrack. I used that music as an overlay of a trip that we did to Scotland. It just went perfectly with the scenery. Excellent soundtrack for sure.

I thought you would have been a big fan of the soundtrack for "Who's That Girl?"

Tis a wicked soundtrack! One of my favorite movies and the soundtrack adds to it for sure.
Apocalypse Now has a cool soundtrack, I believe it was the first movie to use the moog synthesizer.

Also love Pink Floyd's The Wall, although the soundtrack is basically the movie.

Well I do own it. One of Madonna's most under-rated tunes truth be told.

Actually an under-rated soundtrack is also "Threesome". Just a horrible movie but the soundtrack is top notch - includes a great U2 song "Dancing Barefoot" as well as Bryan Ferry, New Order, and The The.

I really like the soundtrack work that Mark Mothersbough did for Wes Anderson movies, especially Rushmore... all these really intricate and beautiful little harpsichord pieces.

John Brion's stuff on I Heart Huckabees is great, and he's also got solid stuff on Magnolia, Punch Drunk, and Eternal Sunshine.

Phillip Glass's score for Truman Show.

Shore's LoTR, as well as Departed.

More of a sleeper than "Bad Girl" or "Deeper & Deeper"? I do love it though... very much so.
