Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the movie "Once" is amazing, and has an amazing soundtrack to go along with it.

I used to have the soundtrack on tape. Have to find it around here somewhere...

EDIT - ooh, I'm not alone! "Ecstasy of Gold" ftw!

I really liked the soundtrack for Kill Bill vol. 1, specially all the original music from RZA

High Fidelity has a really good soundtrack...specially Who Loves The Sun by the Velvet Underground, always makes me chuckle at that point in the movie.

Goodfellas has got to be my favorite soundtrack. Besides being a great film I think Scosese's music selection for key scenes is almost masterful.

And because Van Morrison is my absolute favourite...

I'll be your Lover and Sweet Thing from the Moonlight Mile Sdtk. Into the Mystic from the American Wedding sdtk.

Already one of my favourite bands, but "I'm shipping up to Boston" Dropkick Murphys in the movie The Departed.

edit: Apparently I'm not bright enough to embed a video. Stupid interweb.

This song got me fired up for this movie. Which, btw, rivals Goodfellas for Scorcese's best film.

Wise call, it's amazing how well that song fits with that scene.

Personally I like the Singles soundtrack. My favorites:

Paul Westerberg: Dyslexic Heart
Pearl Jam: State of Love and Trust
Mother Love Bone: Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns

The exit music on the '96 Romeo + Juliet gave me chills when first I saw it. (I dont think its on the soundtrack though)

I dont think more perfect exit music exists. I also happen to be a huge radiohead fan.

It's hard to choose--there are so many great soundtracks. But I'm a fan of "Let Go" by Frou Frou from the Garden State soundtrack (one of a number of great songs from that movie).

I also liked the soundrack to the movie "Rushmore" quite a bit, particularly the Kinks' "Nothing in this World can Stop Me Worrying About that Girl."

Garden State had a very good soundtrack as did Romeo & Juliette (although the movie wasn't so good).

If I had to chose one I'd pick Talk Show Host by Radiohead

Also worth a mention is System of a Down's cover of Metro (originally by Berlin) on the Dracula 2000 soundtrack:

From the Breakfast Club:

Also, I love the Sound of Music, so anything from that movie puts a huge smile on my face

In terms of overall soundtracks Last of the Mohicans can't be beat. Just a great score by Trevor Jones and also has a haunting song by Clanaad.

I also like the scores in Rain Man and True Romance - both done by Hans Zimmer.
