I didn't realise they had hired new coordinators. I was just stating a theory anyway. Hard to imagine what owners like Snyder are thinking.

Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowl Defensive End Jared Allen is opening a sports bar in down town Kansas City. Hopefully he plans on staying with the Chiefs as well. Not sure if owning a bar is a good idea for a person such as Jared Allen.

The worst teams in the NFL since 2003:
1. Oakland 19-61
2. San Francisco 25-55
3. Detroit 26-54
4. Arizona 28-52
4. Houston 28-52

You can look it up. In regular-season records, Jacksonville (49-31), Carolina (38-42), Cleveland (26-54) and Houston (24-56) averaged 34 wins in their first five seasons of existence -- 15 more than the Raiders have had in their last five seasons.
And to think this was a team who just won the AFC and at the time had the NFL's best record in the 00's at that point in time thats gone on to this 19-61 record in the past 5 years. I wonder what some teams like the 90's Bengals or 70's/80's Bucs had for records over a 5 year span. Can't be much worse than 19-61.

I actually thought that the 9ers were turning a corner last season.

So did the the fans.
They came close the year before - if they could have beaten AZ they would have made the playoffs. They traded with the Pats to get another O-Lineman (which was/is needed), paid big money for a corner (who didn't play poorly, but didn't live up to his contract price) and things looked good. I don't know if Smith regressed, was exposed, or the loss of Norv Turner hurt the team more than was expected.
I'm not sure what to expect with Mad Mike running the offense this year. Mike, you're not on turf in a dome anymore.

In free agency that seems to be the norm. Very rarly does a UFA get to the probowl with his new team. Or they could turn into a huge bust like Kendrell Bell with the Chiefs.

Fassel signs to be HC of the redskins.
That didn't take long, what an efficient process snyder put in place there.
Heh, Kendrell Bell, one of the biggest FA busts since FA began. Up there with Micheal Haynes with the Saints.

T.O. owes the Eagles more money.

An arbitrator ruled in favour of the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday on a grievance that was filed by the NFL players' union on Owens' behalf in 2005, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Tuesday.
He was suspended four games without pay and the team withheld his final five paycheques, totalling $955,880. That means Owens still owes the Eagles $769,120.
|
Between this, Romo's late season choke jobs, T.O. crying, and the Deadskins still having Dan Snyder as an owner, it's been a pretty good couple weeks for us Eagles fans (other than Big Blue being in the Super Bowl).
The bonus from all of this is that the Eagles also get to add this money to their cap space. HA! HA! Stupid Cowboys!

Ask the Raiders.

If 85 thinks things are bad in Cincy with one of the best QB's in the league. How happy is he going to be in Miami?

Looks like the Saints will lose their home game this year. They are likely going to play San Diego in London.
Nothing official yet, but it is expected to be announced by Roger Goodell in his Friday press conference. They could repay the City by giving them a Super Bowl in a couple of years.

I think his "unhappiness" in addition to not winning, is the fact that Cincinnati is full of criminals who constantly get in trouble and bring the entire reputiation of the team down. Just ask Carson Palmer how he feels about that.

If it doesn't stop, we're not going to have any fans left and I don't blame them. It's ridiculous... We can't get through a month without getting a guy arrested. It happens on another team and they're shocked and surprised to hear about it. With us, you hear about it and it doesn't surprise you and you just shake your head and say, 'Another one.' "

Kerry Joseph set to workout with the Saints:

New Orleans could use a good backup, and he's a local product. Why not?
Edit: Sorry for the fata guys! I don't frequent the CFL thread very often...

True but the Raiders never had someone as respected as the big tuna.
I think it would be a great move he would be a clear number 1 on this team, that being said there are lots of holes to fill on this team. It will be years before there all filled and yes receivers are babies.

You guys already have a number 1 receiver - isnt that why Ginn was picked 9th last year?
Seriously, someone like Johnson who is established in the league does not need to go to Miami. He'll last 8 games and then he'll get frustrated because Beck cant get him the ball enough, they dont have a running game and theyre still years away.
The Tuna is respected, but he and Owens clashed. Johnson isnt as bad as Owens, but I think it's a situation that the Dolphins shouldnt get into.

I thought Ginn was picked because he had a great family.
