I'm inclined to agree. I have a large circle of very close friends. To be more accurate, several large circles of very close friends. I have close friends from various schools, friends of those friends, work, and just from growing up where I did.
What I like about having a large group of close friends, is that if someone's busy on weekend, someone else is free, or you can go away and hang out with friends away, there's no need of planning a road trip around who can come as there will be people there when you get there.
That said I also love, and need, my "me-time". I'm a reflective person, I need to go over what's going on in my life in my head, if I don't get that personal reflective time, or time vegging watching TV, surfing the net, getting my mind off things, or like everyone else here visiting the Internet Crack Site called forum.calgarypuck.com then I'm just not the same person, calm, relaxed, laid back person that I usually am.
I personally need a balance, but try to keep myself open enough that if you need something or someone to grab a bite to eat with, a coffee, or a beer with, I try to be there.
You know, it's amazing that if you're there for people when they need you, how often they'll be there for you.
Live your life, try and be as happy as possible (or merely content if that's what you want), be nice to people, treat them as you would want them to treat you, and don't be afraid to smile, joke, and laugh.
