When I look at the line up, I just don’t think they’re a bad team. With hubys 30 goals back, kadris ppg and Carnato really stepping up I think this team lads in a playoff spot

Don't understand the hate/ the random thoughts about buying him out (lol)

I wouldn't call it hate, moreso shock that he was on the 1st line.
Unlike Sharkbit, Joel chips in when he isn't scoring. But he looks like a 3rd line player to me. An expensive one.
But so was Blake when we got him, and that worked out well.

Farabee has been way better this year.
He looked like replacement level to me last year. Some effort and hustle, but not particularly good at anything. 6 points in 31 games is awful for a $5 million player.
But credit where it's due, he has the puck on his stick a whole lot more this year.

Not to mention, thus far he seems to be absolutely bringing it! That guy seems like a man on a mission this year.

Over the 3 games, you could make the argument that he has been the best forward. Certainly in the conversation.

I mean the Pacific division isn't that tough...LA certainly seems to have taken a step back.

Yep, people just get something in their mind and refuse to change...I bet there are people on here that think Kerins is a better player lol. They also think Farabee is 35 not 25, he is a young players still!

Scoring Winger
|
I always feel like the first 10 games in a season is really hard to determine how the team will do. Obviously, a poor start puts them on the back foot and makes it hard to gain ground and a good start creates the opposite problem where they can protect a playoff spot. I just think that in a 80+ game season the first 1/8 of games is really where teams get a sense of how the team is going to go and it is afterwards that we really see what this team becomes this year.

I remember one year early in Jarome's tenure that the Flames started like gang busters and were near top of the division or conference. Yet, they missed that year. Too much can be made of early season success or failure.

I absolutely love your Huberdeau hate. It's so over the top, lol. Huberdeau plays top 6 when he gets back, dude. Don't be silly.

Farabee has been getting the second-most TOI for forwards, behind Kadri.

The start last year carried the team through some dark stretches, and kept them from selling off assets last year which then led to the end of season run where they played, what I’d say, is over their head.
A bad start this year will likely lead to selling assets, which removes that end of the year run, which would place this team in the bottom “clump” come draft time.

Farabee and Frost have been our 2 best forwards coming out of camp.

I'd say Gridin is up there from an event driving perspective. He has set teammates up with some high quality chances and could easily be above a PPG so far.

I wouldn't mind the Flames being bad. But never not once have I cheered for a Calgary loss. (Not even during the Kipper/Iggy down years).
